The 2023 pro disc golf season has come to an end and that means the time has come again to recognize those who topped the charts on UDisc Live, which was used to track tournament scores and stats by every major disc golf tour in the world in 2023.
Note that to be eligible for these superlatives, a player had to have at least 160 holes tracked with UDisc Live during the 2023 season (including from two wraparound events played in 2022 as part of the 2023 Disc Golf Pro Tour season).
Enjoy exploring which MPO disc golfers rocked it in 2023:

9 | Eagle McMahon | 88.0% | 603 | 685 |
10 | Simon Lizotte | 87.3% | 489 | 560 |
Andrew Marwede's 93.1% is the new record for single-season C1X putting percentage in the UDisc Live era. Marwede broke his own record of 92% from last year.
What's C1X?
C1X stands for Circle 1X.
Circle 1 (C1) is any point within 10 meters (about 33 feet) of the basket. At this range, a player has to maintain balance behind their lie (i.e., can't jump or step putt).
C1X refers to all putts between 10 and 3.3 meters (about 11 feet). We assume pros will make nearly 100% of putts within 3.3 meters, so C1X eXcludes these tap-ins, providing a clearer picture of putting skill.
Best Circle 2 Putters in Pro Disc Golf: MPO 2023

9 | Reid Frescura | 33.0% | 96 | 291 |
10 | Chandler Fry | 33.0% | 117 | 355 |
Though it won't surprise anyone to find sharp-shooter Corey Ellis' name in this top 10, learning that this is the only category where the 2023 PDGA Major winner's name appears in these superlatives might.
What's C2?
C2 stands for Circle 2, which is anything outside of 10 meters (about 33 feet) from the basket up to 20 meters (about 66 feet).

Congrats to touring veteran Paul Ulibarri for putting together the longest C1 streak in pro disc golf in 2023!
These streaks could include makes from tap-in range, C1X, C2, and throw-ins (including aces). A miss from C2 didn't break the streak.

Almost everyone reading this and likely more than a handful of players on tour feel like they'd need a miracle to get a disc to travel 600 feet/183 meters regardless of where it landed. What's stunning is that the players above not only went over that threshold but did it with pinpoint accuracy.
We identified these shots as the most impressive long-range throws of the year thanks to our Precise Power Index stat (see next section to learn more about PPI).
Highest Precise Power Index in Pro Disc Golf: MPO 2023
Rank | Name | PPI |
Holes Counted in PPI |
1 | Calvin Heimburg | 54.2 | 284 |
2 | Simon Lizotte | 50.9 | 205 |
3 | Oskari Vikström | 50.5 | 74 |
4 | Joona Heinänen | 48.3 | 198 |

8 | Jake Hebenheimer | 46.5 | 253 |
9 | Rasmus Saukkoriipi | 46.4 | 129 |
10 | Matěj Vojtík | 46.1 | 58 |
The precise power index (PPI) is a stat we released near the end of the 2022 season. The higher a player's average PPI, the more accurate they've proven to be when throwing distance shots. For MPO, that means shots of at least 400 feet/122 meters.
You can get more info on PPI in our post introducing the stat.
Players needed to play at least 50 holes that qualified for a PPI rating to make the list in the table above.
Best Fairway Hit Rates in Pro Disc Golf: MPO 2023

9 | Peter Lunde | 77.7% | 240 | 309 |
10 | Niklas Anttila | 77.3% | 1,026 | 1,327 |
We've now seen Calvin Heimburg's name twice in this section on the best throwers (he topped PPI in 2023), but we never saw his name in any of the putting lists. Maybe that's a sign of what the superstar can work on in the offseason to finally clinch that first Major everyone expects out of him.
Though, to be fair, Isaac Robinson also didn't make a top putter list, isn't ranked among the best in PPI, and actually trails Heimburg here. He still claimed two Majors in 2023, including the Professional Disc Golf World Championship.
What's a Fairway Hit?
Here's how we define a fairway hit:
- Fairway Hits stats only cover players' first shots (i.e., tee shots) on par 3s and 4s.
- On a par 3, a player's drive has to come to rest within C2 to count as a fairway hit.
- On a par 4, the player's first shot needs to be in the fairway (e.g., not in the woods, OB, or in a hazard) or in C2.
- On a par 5, a player can earn 0, 1, or 2 fairway hits. If a player's first shot lands in the fairway, it counts as a fairway hit (if it miraculously landed within C2, that would also count). A player's second shot can land in the fairway or within C2 and count as a fairway hit.

Little ol' birdies weren't enough to feed these big arms. They wanted eagles and got lots of 'em.
What's an Eagle?
When a player completes a hole in two fewer strokes than par (hole-in-one on a par 3, two strokes on a par 4, or three on a par 5), they get an eagle.

10 | Ezra Robinson | 9.8% | 141 | 1,440 |
Though Paul McBeth had a bit of a rough season by his standards and ended it early due to injury, it's worth noting his name showed up before on the highest birdie rate list and now again on the one for lowest bogey rate. Only Calvin Heimburg and Eagle McMahon also made it in both of those top 10s. It seems McBeast, Mr. Six-Time, or whatever you like to call the player many consider the GOAT wasn't as off as it may have felt.
And speaking of not going anywhere, it's impressive to see the over-50-year-old Scott Stokely making appearances in these year-end superlative lists. He made one of the year's biggest jumps in world ranking, and you'll also see him near the top of the scramble rate rankings.
By the way, the bogey totals include all sorts of bogeys – single, double, triple, and so on.

What's a Scramble?
The scramble stat tracks a player's ability to recover from an off-target drive and avoid carding a bogey. If a player ever throws OB or off the fairway and still earns par or better on a hole, they've successfully scrambled.

A player successfully "bounces back" when they card a birdie or better after getting bogey or worse on the previous hole. That means every bogey a player gets means another chance to bounce back.

in 2023 Isaac Robinson won a world championship, became the only person not named McBeth or Wysocki to win two Majors in a single season in over a decade, and played more holes at the world's top disc golf events than anyone else by far. Here's to you, Mr. Robinson.
