Filter by Disc Golf Course Difficulty
Taking some friends out to play for the first time and want to make sure they have a great experience? Maybe you're up for a test this weekend and want to cross a double-black diamond layout off your list. Whatever flavor you're after, you can now see courses filtered by four levels of difficulty: easy, moderate, challenging, and very challenging.
This new filter can be accessed using the horizontal scroll across the top of the Courses tab, or by navigating to UDisc Courses. And if you've been wondering exactly how an easy, moderate, challenging, or very challenging course is defined, there are handy definitions of our disc golf course difficulty scale there, as well.
New Recommended Sort
Have you ever searched for a new place to play and been treated to a one-hole practice "course" as the first choice? Us too, and we'll admit it: We know it wasn't great. That's why Courses now defaults to "Recommended," which will show you the top courses in your area with a healthy balance between distance and rating.
A 4.5-rated course that's five miles away should get priority over a 3.0-rated spot that's within a mile – now it does. And if you're on the road and truly just looking for baskets nearby, the "Closest" filter is one tap away.
Sort Disc Golf Courses by Best...
Scenery, signage, amenities, and more. You've been busy leaving detailed course ratings that spotlight the best of the best – it's only fitting, then, that you be able to sort by the best of the best, too! Are you looking for the most swoon-worthy tracks on your vacation trip, or are quality tee pads your priority? You powered the ratings, and now you have the power to put them to use.
Narrow (or Expand) the Number of Disc Golf Holes You Want to Play
The previous version of UDisc's filters only allowed you to select between two options for the number of holes on a course: 9+ and 18+. Now, you can select anything from 3-27+ holes and narrow or expand your focus with an easy-to-use slider bar. Whether you're itching for a quick round of six holes on your lunch break or you really have time to stretch things out, there's an option for you.
Personalize Your View Preferences
This new experience is all about finding the best course for you, so why not make it a little easier? Take control of your view preferences with toggles that save to your device and allow you to hide object courses, special event courses, stores, and even images on the list view every time you search.
Add to Your Disc Golf Course Wishlist on the Web
You’ll get all these enhancements to your disc golf course search experience when you point your browser to UDisc Courses – perfect for daydreaming during your work hours (we won’t tell). And, there’s a bonus: You can now add courses to your wishlist from the web! Just make sure you’re logged into your UDisc account while you explore. When you click into a course, you’ll see the friendly “Add to Wishlist” button in the upper right-hand corner.
As always, you can still narrow your course results by places you've visited, cost, facilities, and if they allow your four-legged friends.
To learn more about the wishlist (and get some ideas of what to add to your own), check out our posts on the most wishlisted disc golf courses from 2023 in the U.S., Europe, and Canada.
See Average Disc Golf Hole Scores with UDisc Pro
There's more to this update than just a new course search experience.
You asked for it in comments, surveys, forums, and emails to the UDisc team. Now, they're finally here: Average hole scores are available on UDisc Pro!
If you've ever wondered how the world plays a certain hole, and how you compare, you can see it in the top bar of the scorecard. Here's how to unlock average hole scores:
- Make sure you're a UDisc Pro member
- Play a layout with a difficulty rating.
- Look for the globe icon in the upper stats bar. The number to the right of it is the average hole score.
You can expand the stats bar to see more in-depth information about the hole, including the global distribution of birdies, pars, and bogeys (compared to your own). And when you select a layout, you'll also be able to see the total global average against your history on the same configuration.
If you have feedback on these updates, drop us a line at [email protected]. See you on the course!
