It's a common issue for those who have disc golfing friends or family: They know that a disc golf present could delight someone they care for, but they have absolutely no idea where to start. Here, we fix that.
UDisc is the top disc golf app, and our staff is made up of people passionate about the sport. So we know a thing or two about what disc golfers are likely to love. Below we use that knowledge to give you disc golf gift ideas and also explain – with the non-disc golfer in mind – how to know if they'd be a good choice for the disc golfer in your life.

Disc Golf Disc Repair Tool: $15.99
What is a disc golf disc repair tool?
A small tool players can easily attach to their disc golf bags that makes it easy to smooth out imperfections that affect players' comfort while gripping a disc.
What is it good for?
After a bad tree hit or a skip off of a paved area, a discs' rim can feel rough or have a sharp divot in it that makes it uncomfortable to hold. Sometimes discs can have a sharp bit of plastic left over from production called flashing that makes them uncomfortable in the hand. Some disc golfers carry around sandpaper (or something similar) to smooth out these imperfections. The Disc Doctor will last longer and is specially designed to fix problems where they most affect disc golfers' grip (edges and underside of the rim).
How do I know they'd like it?
Honestly, we think most any disc golfer would love to get one of these if they don't already have one. Even if they've never thought about doctoring up their discs' imperfections, they'd likely be excited to learn that it's possible and to have a tool that makes it easy.
Where can I find a disc golf disc repair tool?
The Disc Doctor is on Etsy. Infinite Discs and other disc golf equipment retailers offer them, too.

Great Disc Golf Discs for Catch: $17.95-$22.99
What is a disc golf catch disc?
A disc that you can safely use to play catch just like you would with a traditional Frisbee.
What's it good for?
Playing catch is a great way to warm up before a round, but most disc golf discs have sharp edges and are made of very stiff, thick plastic. When you try to play catch with these like you would with a Frisbee, it's not a pleasant experience for the catcher's hand.
However, there are some discs out there that are made of softer, more flexible material that are the same dimensions as disc golf discs and fly like them but can be caught without risk of injury.
Other things catch discs are good for:
- Teaching young kids disc golf: Kids' release points and patience levels are rarely consistent. If one of these discs accidentally hits someone, it's more likely to be harmless than a normal disc.
- Day trips and vacations: Toss these discs in a backpack or beach bag to use like a Frisbee if the occasion arises.
- Avoiding big skips and roll-aways: There are times when disc golfers want to make sure their disc has very little chance to roll or skip away from where it lands (like if a basket is on a hill). These discs often stay exactly where they first meet the ground.
How do I know they'd like it?
Normally buying surprise discs for your disc golfer isn't a great idea (we explain why in the section about disc golf gift cards), but this is different. These discs will be a fun addition to any disc golfer's bag and can be used off the disc golf course, too. If your disc golfer enjoys playing catch or is working on teaching kids to play disc golf, one of these discs would be a fun (and, likely, surprising) way to show them you care.
Where can I find good discs for catch?
Some of the easiest-to-find catch discs out there right now are the MVP Glitch, the DGA Blowfly (I & II), and the ridiculously squishable Elevation Koi. Here are places to find these discs:
- MVP Glitch
Made in a soft plastic but less flexible than either a Blowfly or a Koi. The lighter weight versions are great for those who don't throw too far, kids, and those who want a disc specifically designed to double as catch and disc golf disc.
At: Infinite Discs, Powergrip - DGA Blowfly I
A putter (very slow-flying disc) that's extremely bendable. Meant for short distances, catch, and putting.
At: Infinite Discs, OTB Discs - DGA Blowfly II
This one can fly a little bit faster than the Blowfly I, so it could possibly fly farther. If you're a non-disc golfer, don't agonize over which Blowfly to get. Either one will likely make your disc golfer similarly happy.
At: Infinite Discs, OTB Discs - Elevation Koi
This disc feels almost like Play-Doh in the hand, but it does actually fly. If your disc golfer doesn't already know about this disc, they're sure to be fascinated by it.
At: Infinite Discs

Disc Golf Games: $9.99-$17
What is a disc golf game?
These games add a greater element of chance to rounds of disc golf, creating fun and lighthearted frustration as players razz each other; are forced to use angles and discs that don't match their playing style or the way a fairway is shaped; or even throw with their off-hands, with eyes closed, or with a mini-marker instead of a driver.
- DiscDice: Players roll dice before a throw to tell them an angle or method and type of disc they must use.
- Ript games: A bit more strategic as players get hands of cards they can play during rounds to hurt other players' chances at a good score or to improve their own.
- Legends of the Chains: Adds the fun of a strategic role playing game into real rounds of disc golf. Players take on traits of different fantastical characters and gain powers that can improve their rounds and hurt the rounds of opponents.
What is it good for?
A disc golf game can be used to spice up rounds among competitive groups of disc golfing friends, to change up the norm if you only have a course or two nearby that you play all the time, or (especially DiscDice) used to motivate players to practice throwing techniques and angles they need work on but have a hard time bringing themselves to use during a "real" round.
How do I know they'd like it?
If your disc golfer has a group of friends they regularly play with and enjoys silliness and games of chance, one of these disc golf games could be fun for them to take out every now and then.
Legends of the Chains would be particularly good for players who are into both role playing games and disc golf.
Where can I find a disc golf game?
DiscDice are sold from the brand's website as well as other disc golf retailers. The normal DiscDice are just for throws from tees and fairways and cost $17. For $21.50 you can get a set with a die for putting, too.
The Legend of the Chains website has sets on sale for $14.99.
The Ript card games are sold from maker KnA Games' website and other e-retailers. We've seen some sites where decks cost $7.99 rather than the $9.99 from KnA.

Disc Golf Grip Enhancer: $11-$12
What are disc golf grip enhancers?
Products that help disc golfers hold onto their discs when throwing even in wet conditions or when they're sweaty.
What are they good for?
When disc golfers play in the early morning, get caught in a surprise shower, or are sweating in the heat, hands and plastic get wet, and that means discs can start slipping out before players want them to. Sometimes towels get soaked through or even make hands too dry (yeah, it's a thing). When that happens, grip aids can be a disc golfer's best friend.
The two enhancers featured here work in different ways.
Whale Sacs are bags filled with a clay-based powder that takes moisture away from players' hands and discs. The small bags are made to be tied on to disc golf bags or carts.
DG Max Wax creates a water-repellant coating similar to the wax surfers use on their boards. Importantly, the maker of Max Wax lives in Texas, has used his product on some very hot days, and says he hasn't had a problem with the wax melting. The beeswax-based formula for his wax should be able to withstand 130°F/54°C temperatures for over an hour (though even the most hardcore disc golfers would likely stay home that day).
How do I know they'd like it?
There are very few environments where a grip aid would be a bad gift for a disc golfer. Either sweat, dew, rain, or even melting snow will affect almost everyone who plays the game at some point.
In case the player you buy for asks: Yes, both grip aids we recommend can legally be used in tournaments.
Where can I find disc golf grip enhancers?
Founded and owned by disc golfer Tina Oakley, Whale Sacs has its own online store. Most Sacs cost $11 or $12, and 3% of all sales go to Save the Whales.
The maker of DG Max Wax also sells his product directly from his website. To learn more about this grip enhancer and the story behind it, take a look at our post "DG Max Wax Wants To Help Disc Golfers Get A Grip."

Basic Disc Golf Bag: From $10
What is a disc golf bag?
A bag specifically made for carrying disc golf discs during rounds.
What's it good for?
People who only recently started playing disc golf often just carry discs in their hands or repurpose old handbags or backpacks. A bag made specifically for disc golf discs makes discs easily accessible during rounds.
How do I know they'd like it?
If the disc golfer you know doesn't have a bag specifically made for disc golf discs yet, it's likely they'd be happy to have a more convenient way to carry them during their rounds.
We're specifically recommending only entry-level bags here because as players get more involved in the game, their tastes and desires related to equipment tend to get more specific. Players who already have a bag but are looking for an upgrade to a more premium one would probably be happiest if they researched the options personally and decided what best suits their needs on the course.
Where can I find an entry-level disc golf bag?
There are two options for entry-level bags: single-strap and backpack. You can see options for bags of both types made by major disc golf equipment manufacturers at online retailer Infinite Discs (just click the links in the previous sentence). Backpacks will be more expensive, but they carry more discs and typically distribute weight more evenly than single-strap bags.

Disc Golf Gift Card: $20 Suggested Minimum (From $5)
What is a disc golf gift card?
A gift card from a retailer specializing in disc golf equipment.
What's it good for?
There are some who believe that gift cards are a cop-out gift for when people don't feel like putting in the effort to find something someone will really love. But no matter how well you know and love a disc golfer, there are certain things you'll likely just not know unless you play the sport yourself. Chief among these is exactly what sorts of discs to buy them. The brand, model, weight, and even production year of discs can matter a lot to some players.
So if you're looking for a way to make sure a disc golfer can get exactly what they want while still showing them you know and care enough about them to support their hobby, a gift card to a disc golf retailer is a perfect option.
How do I know they'd like it?
Unless the person you're buying for is the kind who hates gift cards as gifts, most any disc golfer will be happy about the chance to pick up some new gear.
Where can I find a disc golf gift card?
The simplest way to make sure a disc golfer can find what they want is to get them a gift card to an online disc golf equipment retailer. Two trustworthy ones with wide selections are OTB Discs and Infinite Discs.
If you'd like to support local businesses with your money, you can look for a disc golf shop near you on UDisc Stores. We'd recommend trying to find an independent, disc golf-focused store rather than a chain sports equipment retailer as chain stores tend to have very limited selections of disc golf equipment.
Budget allowing, we suggest not going below $20 for a disc golf gift card. That limit should give even the pickiest disc golfers enough to buy at least one disc they like.

UDisc Pro One-Year Subscription — Digital Gift Card: $29.99
What is a UDisc Pro subscription?
A UDisc Pro subscription allows players to get more out of the sport's most popular app for finding disc golf courses, scoring rounds, tracking personal disc golf stats, and more. If your disc golfer keeps score or looks for courses with their phone or smartwatch, there's a good chance they use UDisc to do it.
What is it good for?
The vast majority of UDisc's capabilities are included in the app's free version. However, the perks of Pro are great for any frequent disc golfer. Here's what UDisc Pro offers that's not available in the app's free version:
- Access to lifetime scorecards and stats (limited to 10 most recent rounds in the free version)

Disc Golf Disc Locator: $9.95-$19.99
What is a disc golf disc locator?
A small, lightweight device that attaches securely to a disc and makes a sound to help you find it under leaves, in high grass, etc.
What is it good for?
If your disc golfer complains about long searches for discs in tall grass, thick brush, or under piles of leaves, a locator that lets them hear their disc's location could be helpful. These devices can also make disc golf more accessible for those with visual impairments.
How do I know they'd like it?
These little gadgets are mostly for players with small disc collections who often play courses where losing discs is likely and don't often play official competitions. The competition part is important because having these devices on a disc would count as an illegal disc alteration at most tournaments.
One locator, MeepMeep, connects to an app via Bluetooth and makes a sound when prompted via the app. Another, HelloDisc, does not require an app – activate it before a throw and it will begin beeping after a short delay.
Where can I find a disc golf disc locator?
MeepMeep can be bought directly from its producer for $19.99. HelloDisc locators sell directly from their maker for $9.99.

FlighTowel: Most Options Under $25
What is a FlighTowel?
A towel attached to a small piece of a disc.
What's it good for?
The purpose of the towel is, unsurprisingly, to dry or clean discs. It's the addition of a disc piece at the end of the towel that makes this product unique.
Many disc golfers use towels to practice their throwing motion because the towel creates resistance that feels similar to a disc in the hand. But you can't grip a towel the same way you grip a disc. The FlighTowel solves that issue by putting just enough of a disc's edge at the end of the towel so that players can practice their throwing motion and grip at the same time.
How do I know they'd like it?
If you know the type of disc golfer who practices their throwing motion whenever and wherever they can (while waiting for something to microwave or watching TV, for instance), this could be a great gift. It'd be a simple and inexpensive thing to make their informal practice time more valuable.
Also, if the the person plays a lot of disc golf tournaments, the FlighTowel can come in very handy. Players can't practice real throws during tournaments no matter how long they're waiting for groups to finish a hole. With the FlighTowel, they can keep sharp even if they're held up quite a while.
Where can I find FlighTowels?
You can order FlighTowels directly from the manufacturer at flightowel.com. Make sure you pay attention to whether you're buying a FlighTowel made for a righthanded or lefthanded person.

Disc Golf Disc Retriever: $35 and Up
What is a disc retrieval device?
A piece of equipment designed to help disc golfers get discs when they end up in the water or high up in trees.
What's it good for?
Some disc retrievers are telescopic sticks with specialized heads good for getting discs out of trees and water. Others are made specifically for water and feature a device attached to a rope that can be cast out into a body of water and dragged back in, picking up the disc on its way (these have a longer range than most sticks but are harder to carry and less versatile).
How do I know they'd like it?
Has the disc golfer in your life ever complained about having to get wet in order to get their disc or spending a half hour throwing sticks at a tree to get a stuck disc to fall? Then a disc retrieval device could be the perfect thing for them.
Where can I find a disc retrieval device?
If both trees and water could be a problem, we recommend going with a retriever built like an extendable stick. For the many who don't closely follow developments in the world of telescopic disc retrieval sticks, know that a very popular recent innovation in this realm has been Max Disctance's head that's simply a ball of suction cups. Though it may look strange, the design has proven to be extremely effective and less finicky than metal or plastic hooks and trapping devices, making it less likely discs will disappear under stirred-up pond muck during an attempted retrieval.
Max Disctance's disc golf disc retrievers start at $49.99 for a 16-foot/4.9-meter telescopic stick with a suction cup head, and prices go up as the sticks get longer.
The least expensive disc retriever stick we could find from a trusted brand was the Kwik-Stik XXL at $34.95 – a stark reduction from last year when the brand's retrievers started at over $60. Note that while older Max Discstance heads could fit Kwik-Stiks, more recent models do not, eliminating the chance you thrifty shoppers out there might have seen for creating a longer pole with a Max Discstance head for less than the Max Discstance price.
We also saw the Hive Disc Talon, which is associated with well-known disc golf brand MVP, selling for between $31 and $35.
You can find other telescopic disc retriever options at sites like Infinite Discs, 1010 Discs, and plenty of other smaller retailers.
Those interested in the castable retrievers meant for solely for water retrievals should take a look at Dynamic Discs' Golden Retriever at $24.99.

Reusable Hand Warmer: $25 and Up
What is a reusable handwarmer?
A small portable device that radiates heat. In the long run, a reusable hand warmer will be cheaper and create less trash than single-use alternatives.
What's it good for?
When most people go out on a cold day, they can keep their hands toasty by wearing gloves. But winter gloves and tossing discs don't mix well, so most disc golfers regularly expose their throwing hand to the cold. As the hand gets colder and colder, players have a harder and harder time feeling discs and throwing accurately.
Hand warmers help players' hands recover from the cold quickly, keeping those digits comfortable and nimble.
How do I know they'd like it?
Almost anyone who regularly plays in temperatures around or below 40°F/4.5°C would probably enjoy having a hand warmer. If your disc golfer already uses single-use hand warmers, it's a good bet that a reusable option would be a hit. Many also act as power banks, meaning they can charge a phone as well as heat a hand.
Where can I find a reusable handwarmer?
Perhaps the most consistently well-reviewed reusable hand warmer we came across is also the lowest-tech. The Zippo 12-Hour Refillable Hand Warmer ($24.95) burns fuel similar to what you'd find in lighters. The upsides are that it warms fast, there are no batteries for the cold to kill, and it will stay warmer longer than any other handwarmer at its price point by a longshot (the OCOOPA listed later states it will only last 8 hours at top heat, not 15). The downsides are that you have to keep a supply of fuel at home to refill it (though the fuel is inexpensive), need a lighter to get it going, and there's no "off" button once it's lit.
Here are some higher-tech options with different lifespans:
- 3-hour max: Zippo HeatBank 3 ($24.95)
- 6-hour max: Zippo HeatBank 6 Rechargeable Hand Warmer ($39.95)
- 15-hour max: OCOOPA 10000 mAh Rechargeable Electric Portable Pocket Warmer Power Bank (15-hour max at $32.99).
You can also find many good rechargeable hand warmers over $50.
Keep in mind that cold temperatures take tolls on batteries, so these warmers might not reach their full potentials in truly frigid weather. Additionally, these lifespans are based on the lowest possible heat settings for the devices. We encourage you to research the hand warmers mentioned above (and others) thoroughly to make sure they'll suit the needs of your disc golfer.

Waterproof Socks: $36 and Up
What are waterproof socks?
Socks that will keep the wearer's foot dry even if their shoes are soaked.
What are they good for?
Morning dew, rain, melting snow – plenty of conditions can make the surfaces disc golfers play on very wet, and playing with wet feet is never fun. While many disc golfers specifically seek out waterproof shoes, that waterproofing often doesn't last forever, and a pair of waterproof socks can help keep their feet dry when water gets in their shoes.
How do I know they'd like it?
Socks may seem like the classic gift no one wants, but we promise that many disc golfers would love to be surprised by a pair of waterproof socks. If your disc golfer lives in an area where the ground can stay wet for long periods, gets in lots of early rounds when morning dew is plentiful, or plays tournaments where they're at the mercy of whatever the weather decides to do that day, they're likely to be interested in waterproof socks.
Where can I find waterproof socks?
The most recognized and trusted name in waterproof socks is Sealskinz (not all Sealskinz are waterproof – make sure they are before purchase!). At the time of publication, they had some socks on sale for as low as $36, though non-sale prices for one model went up to $69.

Disc Golf Board Game: $45
What is the BIRDIE! disc golf board game?
A board game that has players become pro disc golfers taking on one of the world's best-known courses. You earn skills and karma as you play, needing both solid strategy and luck to win. The game was developed by Todd Dodge and his brother Steve, who, among other accomplishments, founded the Disc Golf Pro Tour that is now the most prominent professional disc golf circuit in the world and helped create the one of the world's best disc golf courses, Maple Hill.
What is it good for?
This could be a hit for anyone who's into both disc golf and board games. It might especially strike a chord for players who fit that description and live in areas where year-round play isn't pleasant. BIRDIE! could help them scratch the disc golf itch without getting frostbite in the process.
How do I know they'd like it?
A round of BIRDIE! is a significant time investment, so only get this for someone with patience for board games with rules on the more complex side. Additionally, make sure to pick this up for someone who has a group of friends or family that would be interested in playing it with them.
Where can I find the BIRDIE! disc golf board game?
The site from the makers of BIRDIE! was selling the game for $45 at the time of publication. Note that you'll need the base game to play any of the $24 expansion packs.

Maybe you're looking to get the disc golfer in your life a major gift. The suggestions below will require a little bit more research on your part to find the perfect fit, but we've added additional information in this section to help you have a better idea of what to look out for.
There are multiple options for most products in this section, so you'll find discussion of prices in either the Where can I find it? or What else should I know? section here rather than in the headers.
Portable Disc Golf Basket
What is a portable disc golf basket?
A disc golf basket is disc golf's answer to traditional golf's hole in the ground. Players need to get their discs in a basket before they complete a "hole." There are various sorts of portable baskets, but the key here is to look for ones constructed so that they can stay up without needing to be cemented into the ground.
What's it good for?
Disc golfers use a portable basket to practice short range shots and putting in their yards or take it with them to nearby fields to create their own long-range "holes." Getting a portable basket makes it so players can easily move the basket to different locations in order to practice various types of shots.
How do I know they'd like it?
If the disc golfer you know is pretty serious about improving and has a yard (or even indoor space) that has about 30 feet/10 meters of open area, a portable basket is a great practice tool to have.
Where can I find a portable disc golf basket?
You can find baskets from a few different equipment manufacturers on Infinite Discs starting around $115. There is also, of course, Amazon, but there you'll need to sift through offerings from non-disc golf companies that offer low prices but dubious quality. If you opt for Amazon, here are the brands we recommend you look at most closely (in alphabetical order): Axiom, DGA, Discraft, Dynamic Discs, Innova, Latitude 64, and MVP.
What else should I know?
Many brands offer a basket with the term "lite" in the name. These tend to be the most affordable baskets in their line-ups and will fulfill the desires of most disc golfers. If you know a player is serious enough to prefer a more heavy-duty basket, it'd be better to let them pick one for themselves as they may want to purchase a very particular basket that matches the ones they see most often at local tournaments.
You will also see that there are options of both collapsible canvas baskets and metal baskets. Metal baskets are much more like what players experience on real courses, so we'd recommend going with those unless you know the person needs to conserve space or would enjoy having something that could more easily be taken along on camping trips or similar excursions.

Disc Golf Shoes
What is a disc golf shoe?
A durable shoe that can stand up to the long walks, hard use, and unique demands of disc golf.
What's it good for?
A good disc golf shoe will provide great grip on tees (concrete, pavers, and artificial turf are common) and fairways (grass that can be slick in the mornings or after/during rain) as well as hold up to the rough terrain, constant rotation, and occasional toe-dragging players put them through. Many disc golfers also prefer waterproof shoes to keep their feet dry and warm no matter the conditions.
How do I know they'd like it?
Most frequent disc golfers care a lot about their footwear. Slipping during throws doesn't just alter where discs land but can lead to injury, too. If your disc golfer plays a lot, they'd likely appreciate footwear with great grip and a long life.
Where can I find disc golf shoes?
Disc golfers typically wear shoes meant for hiking, trail running, and other outdoor pursuits. Only one company, Idio, makes shoes solely for disc golf. You can learn more about their story in "Shoe of Our Own: Behind Idio's Syncrasy Disc Golf Shoe" and check out what people have and haven't liked about them in these reviews of Idio products.
Along with looking into a pair of Idios, a good bet may be getting a gift card to an outdoor store or website with enough money on it to let your disc golfer pick their favorite shoe. Disc Golf Disc Rack
What is a disc golf rack?
A rack for storing disc golf discs and occasionally other equipment.
What's it good for?
Okay, we admit this one might be just as much for the person buying the present as it is for the recipient. Disc storage will help the player organize their discs neatly rather than putting them in cardboard boxes, plastic bins, or just stacking them up wherever there's space.
How do I know they'd like it?
As players' disc collections grow, it's nice to have a place where they can keep discs they currently aren't throwing. Should you know a player who's starting to need a place to keep their extra discs, a disc golf disc rack would make a nice gift.
Where can I find a disc golf rack?
The widest variety of racks we saw from a single source could be found at TOUCH Disc Golf's site. They offer wall mounts that hold as few as four discs ($14) up to standalone wooden racks that can shelve almost 250 discs ($121) with many options between. The company is Canadian but ships internationally – also, make sure if you're in the U.S. to change the prices to U.S. dollars instead of Canadian.
You can also find attractive disc golf rack options made of wood from Shadow Pine Woodworks (smallest rack $50 with 35-50 disc capacity), The Disc Rack (smallest rack $64.95 with 40 disc max), and – when in stock – Hyzer Disc Racks. Shadow Pine also offers customized laser engravings for an increased price.
The MVP Disc Station II was the least expensive metal rack option from a reputable brand we could find this year. It holds around 80 discs and retails for between $69.95 and the mid-to-upper 70s, and they have another rack – MVP Disc Station VI – that holds around 240 discs and costs about $140 at some retailers.
What else should I know?
If your objective is thrift, it seems a simple Vesken shelf from IKEA ($11.99) happens to have great dimensions to hold discs.

Disc Golf Cart
What is a disc golf cart?
A disc golf cart is something that is pulled or pushed that either comes with a container specifically designed to hold discs or is made to hold a disc golf backpack a player already owns.
What's it good for?
Even for young disc golfers, carrying a lot of discs in a backpack can strain the shoulders and back. A cart offers a way for players to get their discs around the course with them without so much wear and tear on the muscles. Some are even made so that disc golfers can sit on them, giving them a place to rest as they wait for others they're playing with to throw.
How do I know they'd like it?
Does the disc golfer you know complain about shoulder or back pain after rounds? A cart could be one way to help.
Know, though, that if you live in an area where the local parks and disc golf courses are very hilly or mountainous, a cart might not be a very good option. Dragging a cart up steep, narrow paths and keeping them from rolling down them can be harder than just carrying a disc golf backpack.
Where can I find disc golf carts?
As we said before, there are some carts that have built-in disc storage and some are made for disc golfers who already have backpacks and would like the option to put them in a cart on the right courses.
Currently the most affordable disc golf carts with built-in storage come from ZÜCA. Their compact cart costs $239, holds 15 discs, has two side pockets for storage, comes with water bottle holders, and can be used as a seat. They also have other options with built-in storage that cost more but come with their own perks. Learn more on ZÜCA's website.
For those disc golfers who already have backpacks, there are more options.
If you think just a disc golf cart and no seat will suit the disc golfer you know just fine, there's the ZÜCA EZ Cart that costs $189. There is also the MVP Rover Cart that's typically between $160-$180, but it was sold out at many retailers at the time of publication – do some searching and you may get lucky, though.
Not sure if the person will want a seat? The Clicgear Rovic RV1D or BagBoy Disc Golf Quad XL Cart could be your answer. They're both pushable carts – Rovics have three wheels, Quad XLs have four – that you'll typically find for between $230 and $240 though there are some deals on Rovics to be found for under $200 (they sell out fast, however). Both have the option to purchase an attachable seat (seat for Rovic - $60, seat for Quad XL - $99.95) at a later time.
For those certain about a seat and whose disc golfer has a backpack, take a look at ZÜCA's backpack cart, too.
What else should I know?
We didn't mention products from the premium cart brand Ridge Roller above. They offer various carts, one that holds a bag (no seat) starting at $275 (you can actually buy the disc container/seat separately at a later date and attach it) and their other line with a disc container that can also be used as a seat starting at $475. There are reasons for those price tags being higher, but it's likely that you'd want to talk through those with the person you're buying the gift for before making that big of an investment.
To learn more about Ridge Roller or most of the cart brands we've mentioned, give our article "Wheeling It: Finding The Best Disc Golf Cart For You" a read.

Disc Golf Bag Stand: The Mojoh Ryzer
What is a Mojoh Ryzer disc golf bag stand?
A lightweight stand that attaches to most disc golf backpacks. The legs fold up when bags are lifted. Get a feel for how it works in a video review of the Mojoh Ryzer prototype.
What is it good for?
The stand's legs keep backpacks from getting wet and muddy, extending bags' lifespans and keeping discs clean and dry. Additionally, players don't have to bend down as far to access discs as they play or lift bags as far each time they pick them up. That may not seem like much, but all that bending really takes its toll on players' bodies over time – especially those who play frequently.
Another bonus is that towels attached to bags stay completely off wet ground, too.
How do I know they'd like it?
If your disc golfer often plays in wet, muddy, or snowy conditions, this stand will help keep their bag in good shape longer. Also, if your disc golfer complains of back pain, this invention could help eliminate some of the work their back has to do during rounds.
You'll want to see if their current disc golf bag will work with the Mojoh Ryzer, too. Check out this list of compatible bags.
Where can I find a Mojoh Ryzer disc golf bag stand?
You could buy a Mojoh Ryzer on Mojoh's website for $149.99 at the time of publication.

Disc Golf Practice Net
What is a disc golf practice net?
A net designed to catch disc golf discs thrown during form and technique practice.
What is it good for?
Serious disc golfers often get very invested in improving their technique so that they can generate more distance and more consistent throws on the course. Thanks to the modern ease of filming throws and watching them in slow motion as well as recent innovations like TechDisc and Gameproofer that can analyze various important throw metrics within milliseconds of a disc leaving the hand, players don't need to see a disc's full flight to understand whether they're doing things correctly.
A disc golf practice net allows players to make full-power throws without the need for a large empty field or the risk of forgetting to pick up discs they've scattered across it. These nets turn backyards or indoor areas into disc golf practice spaces.
How do I know they'd like it?
If your disc golfer is serious about getting better and often films their throwing technique for analysis but doesn't currently have a practice net, this could be a a great option for them.
Where can I find a disc golf practice net?
Most nets designed for catching traditional golf balls should also work for disc golf, like this $49.99 option on Amazon or one for $53.90 at The Home Depot.
The company Visionary Disc Golf makes nets with disc golfers specifically in mind that have a slot to aim at and a system that makes it easier to pick up discs that hit the target. Visionary Disc Golf's options start at $155.

Disc Golf Discs Made from 100% Recycled Plastic
What is a disc golf disc made of 100% recycled plastic?
Almost all disc golf discs are made of plastic, and plastic is made from the fossil fuel oil, meaning most discs people buy contribute to raising demand for oil.
While there are a number of brands with lines of "recycled" discs, most of them regrind products made of new plastic that came out of their molding machines too flawed to sell. This is called "pre-consumer" or "post-industrial" plastic, which refers to recycling something new before any consumer has a chance to use it.
Only one brand, Trash Panda, never buys new plastic, making its disc with a mixture of "post-consumer" plastic (i.e., plastic made from stuff people threw away) and other companies' unwanted post-industrial plastic. Trash Panda's other eco-bon fides include its status as the only certififed B Corp in disc golf and lack of colorful stamps that are made with the environmentally problematic hot foil process that's ubiquitous in disc golf disc manufacturing.
Another brand, Above Ground Level or AGL generally uses 100% recycled plastic (like Trash Panda, a mix of post-industrial and post-consumer), too. However, it sometimes uses new plastics made from hemp in its blends.
What is it good for?
These discs can be used like any others, so they're a great bet for any eco-conscious disc golfer.
How do I know they'd like it?
If your disc golfer wants their hobby to have less negative impact on the world, giving them a chance to try out the most sustainable new discs on the market should be a homerun.
Where can I find 100% recycled plastic discs?
Trash Panda's discs can be ordered directly from their website.
For those unsure of what to get, the Inner Core putter ($16.95) is likely the safest bet. Even if it doesn't make your disc golfer's permanent bag, it can be used for practice putting. If you have a little more room in the budget, you could also go for Trash Panda's recycled disc starter set ($33.95) that includes the putter plus a midrange and driver in premium plastic. Though "starter sets" aren't generally a great option for longtime players, this one is a bit different given that the discs aren't meant only for beginners and offers a chance to test out most of Trash Panda's current line-up.
A final note: We don't suggest surprising your disc golfer Trash Panda's Extraterrestrial disc. It has an unusual rim style that makes it a risky choice as a surprise.

Disc Golf Charities
What are disc golf charities?
There are a number of registered non-profit organizations focused on helping youth and/or communities through disc golf.
What is it good for?
Disc golf is a low-cost sport that can bring people together over shared enjoyment of a healthy hobby. Supporting a disc golf charity means giving more people the chance to take part in that joy.
How do I know they'd like it?
If your disc golfer appreciates donating more than receiving, they may like supporting the goals of a disc golf charity more than getting something themselves.
Where can I donate to a disc golf charity?
The following are well-known and trusted disc golf charities. Click or tap the organization's name to go to its donation page.
- The Paul McBeth Foundation: This organization was founded by six-time professional world champion disc golfer Paul McBeth to help spread disc golf to underserved areas around the world. The Foundation builds high quality disc golf courses for free in locations where the sport is completely unavailable and also assures the courses are tied to local organizations whom they provide with the equipment and knowledge to help locals learn about and use the courses. Urban areas and international locations without disc golf courses are their primary focus. For example, they've completed projects in Mexico, Mongolia, Montenegro, and Kenya (and more) as well as helped build the first disc golf course in New York City.
- Uplay: This non-profit's primary goal is to help more children learn about disc golf. They often go into schools and take over gym classes for a day, leaving behind baskets, discs, and lessons that allow teachers to continue introducing disc golf to future students. The non-profit is led by former touring pro disc golfer and professional educator Zoe Andyke. Learn more about how the organization operates in our blog post "Uplay Offers Schools & Youth Disc Golf For Free."
- Educational Disc Golf Experience (EDGE): Like Uplay, EDGE is focused on introducing disc golf to youth primarily in the school setting. They have created curriculum and programs that schools can pay a fee to receive. They also offer grants – funded in part by donations – to help schools afford those fees.

DISC GOLF TECH
Know someone who loves gadgets and disc golf? Here are three awesome gifts they might enjoy.
To jump to a description of a specific disc golf gift, just click or tap below:
- Disc golf rangefinder
- TechDisc or GameProofer: Measure & improve disc golf throwing speed, spin, and more
- A smart watch that can run UDisc
Disc Golf Rangefinder: $97.99-$154.99
What is a disc golf rangefinder?
A rangefinder designed specifically with disc golfers in mind – which typically means measurements in feet rather than yards for U.S. players (meters elsewhere).
What's it good for?
While anyone using UDisc at a course that's been mapped in the app can see how far they are from their target basket at any time by just checking the app, there are some situations where it's hard for a player to tell how far their next throw should be. On par 5s where a player's goal for a second throw is likely just farther up the fairway, for example, or on unmapped courses.
When a player has a rangefinder, they can clock the distance to any target they wish, and knowing that distance will help them choose the correct disc and power for their next throw. What's special about rangefinders made for disc golfers in the U.S. market is that they show distances in feet, which is the standard unit in U.S. disc golf (it's meters in most other places).
How do I know they'd like it?
Almost any serious disc golfer not afraid of some relatively simple tech would enjoy this as a gift. It makes many decisions on the course a lot easier.
Where can I find a disc golf rangefinder?
The first widely-adopted rangefinder among disc golfers came from Bushnell, but the tool's popularity naturally spawned competition. Here are some of the current options:
- Rogue Iron Disc Golf Factor Rangefinder ($97.99): Measures in feet, yards, or meters | Rechargeable battery | Assesses elevation
- Apex NP600 ($129.99): Measures in feet, yards, or meters | Has a rechargeable battery | Can assess slope, vertical and horizontal distances, object speed, and height
- Bushnell Edge Disc Golf Laser Rangefinder ($154.99): Measures in feet or meters | Batteries have long life but aren't rechargeable | Assesses elevation change

TechDisc ($299.99) or GameProofer ($197.99): Measure Disc Golf Throwing Speed, Spin, & More
What are these sensors for disc golf?
Devices that measure factors like speed and spin when a player throws a disc and sends the stats to a digital database. TechDisc is pre-installed in a disc and calibrated to match the disc it is attached to. The GameProofer can be bought as just a chip and attached to any disc.
What are they good for?
These devices help a player see how changes to their throwing technique affect things like speed, spin, (simulated) flight path, and other factors related to distance and accuracy. Both can be used when throwing into nets or in fields. Notably, TechDiscs require less space to create accurate readings than GameProofers.
How do I know they'd like it?
These are serious practice tools for players who are serious about improvement. If your disc golfer spends a lot of time going out to fields to throw practice shots and/or spends a lot of time studying form tip videos, one of these sensors could be a dream come true.
There's a big difference in price between these sensors, with a single TechDisc ($299.99) costing a bit over $100 more than a single Gameproofer tag ($197.99). However, there are also fairly big differences in the products, too. Here are some of the things they have in common and what sets them apart:
- Both: Measure speed, spin, wobble, and distance
- TechDisc only: Stats on nose angle (important for maximum distance) and hyzer angle | Plans to introduce the ability to play full, simulated courses in 2025 with a $4.99 monthly subscription | Sensors permanently attached to discs, trading less flexibility for higher control of sensor calibration to specific discs and no worries about sensors detaching from discs | Recommended minimum of 12 feet/3.7 meters of space for indoor throws
- Gameproofer only: Ability to use sensor on any disc, upping flexibility but opening up possible issues with adhesive failure or incorrect application | Plans to add nose and tilt angle assessment, but these are currently in Beta testing | Recommended minimum distance of 20 feet/6 meters of distance for indoor throws
You can see both in action in this YouTube video:
Where can I find these sensors?
Both products are sold directly by their makers. Here's TechDisc and here's Gameproofer.

A Smart Watch That Can Run UDisc
What is it?
Any smart watch with the ability to run disc golf's #1 app.
What's it good for?
One thing UDisc does is allow players to keep digital scorecards during their rounds. Typically, players do this on their smart phones as they play. Players with a smart watch that can run UDisc are able to keep score by just quickly tapping the screen on their wrist rather than needing to pick up their phone after every hole.
How do I know they'd like it?
We know you're likely not buying a smart watch for someone just so they can keep their disc golf scores more easily. Still, truly a lot of disc golfers use UDisc to keep track of their rounds. For those buying a smart watch for a disc golfer as a gift, it's a good idea to make sure it can also run UDisc.
Where can I find smart watches that work with UDisc?
Currently, UDisc works with Apple, Wear OS, Samsung, and some Garmin watches. You can find more detail about which watches work with UDisc in this post from our customer success team.
