Ranking the Best Brewery Disc Golf Courses
Here's how we came up with the rankings in this post:
- How did you identify brewery disc golf courses?
Disc golfers adding courses to the UDisc directory can tag them as certain types of property, e.g., private, public, camp, or military. Another property tag option is brewery/winery. We ranked the courses with this tag using the same methodology behind the World's Best Disc Golf Courses. After that, we went down the list sorting out which courses were affiliated with breweries until we had the top 25.
Keep in mind that any course not labeled "brewery/winery" at the time we ran our search was not eligible for this list. - Why might a course with a higher rating in UDisc Courses be ranked behind a course with a lower rating?
The rankings are based on disc golfers' ratings of the courses in UDisc. However, we didn't go purely off of current rating. Our methodology accounts for differences in regional rating norms, applies more weight to recent reviews, and helps identify which courses with excellent but relatively few ratings are true destinations rather than just local faves. - What qualified as a brewery disc golf course?
The course had to be clearly owned, operated, or very closely affilliated with A) a brewery or B) a larger entity that operates a brewery. An example of B in the top 25 is a mountain resort that has a hotel, restaurant, and other attractions along with a brewery and disc golf course.
We excluded courses from the top 25 that were meant just for putting practice, i.e., putt-putt for disc golfers. Still, we highlight the two putting courses that otherwise would have made the top 25 in the honorable mentions section.
We noticed a few courses that appeared to be connected to bars or restaurants that served beer but were not affiliated with specific breweries. These were excluded from the list. - Did you only include craft breweries or microbreweries?
No. Breweries of any size owned by any entity were eligible. That said, all but one of the top 25 courses are associated with craft breweries. - Did you limit what part of the world the courses could be in?
No. Brewery disc golf courses all over the world were eligible.

10. Rose Valley Disc Golf & Barnone Brewery: Breadalbane, Prince Edward Island
Multiple Layouts? Yes
Layout Lengths: Mid-length | Very long
Layout Difficulties: Moderate | Very Challenging
Tees: Artificial turf
Targets: DISCatcher Pro (28-chain)
Cost? $10 per day per player
Course Established: 2019

Food on Site? Food trucks are possible but not on a permanent schedule.
According to course designer Benjamin Smith, Rose Valley wasn't always planned as a brewery disc golf course.
"A few years ago a group of friends pooled their money together to purchase the land that is now the Rose Valley Disc Golf Course and had plans to start the course further down in the field (what is now hole 3)," Smith explained "After a little convincing, I got the group to start right next to the brewery so that both businesses could create some synergy together."
The brewery next to the course's start is Barnone Brewery. Built on the site of a former cattle farm, Barnone now focuses on modern craft ales. It also has a stage where it hosts local musicians and parties as well as outdoor picnic areas and even a nice, quiet library.
As Smith expected, there's been plenty of crossover between those visiting the area for disc golf and those coming in for the craft beer. He said they see great turnout for special events where people new to both craft beer and disc golf try them during the same trip.
The course takes players through a beautiful rural setting and offers multiple layouts so that players at almost all skill levels can find something to enjoy.
"Our course is very hilly with 12 of the holes also located in mature hardwood forests," Smith said. "There are four different layouts to choose from with the Rose Bud being the simplest and most beginner-friendly – any person can play this layout and have a good time. If you ever want to be humbled or consider yourself a true professional, the Gold layout is among the hardest courses in Canada."
Testaments to Rose Valley's championship quality on some layouts include hosting a Disc Golf Pro Tour event in 2023 and the Canadian National Disc Golf Championships in 2022.
"This course is a gem," Smith said. "It can be a lot of hiking, but the trees and vistas are so beautiful it is always worth the stop."

9. Golden Grove Farm & Brew Disc Golf Course: Pelzer, South Carolina
Multiple Layouts? Yes
Layout Lengths: Long | Very long
Layout Difficulties: Very Challenging
Tees: Artificial turf
Targets: DISCatcher Pro (original)
Free or Pay-to-Play? Free
Course Established: 2017
Photos, hole lengths, current course conditions, and more: Golden Grove Farm & Brew Disc Golf Course on UDisc Courses
Golden Grove Farm & Brew is on a plot co-founder Andrew Brown's grandfather once owned, and the building that's now the brewery was abandoned and run-down when Brown first purchased the property. Police had also once raided it because a group was running illegal poker games inside – notably, without the knowledge of Brown's family.
At first, there wasn't an all-out renovation. Brown and his friends fixed the place up just enough to store home brew equipment there and set up pool tables and dart boards.
"It was like our own personal bar," Brown said.
While the space eventually evolved to have a kitchen serving up specialty pizza and wings plus a rustic taproom pouring beer made from as many local and self-grown ingredients as possible (the "farm" part of the name isn't just for charm), that's all currently on hold. Legal circumstances in South Carolina have recently caused huge increases in liquor liability insurance premiums. Many businesses selling alcohol directly to consumers, including Golden Grove, have had to stop doing so as a result.
The brewery still plans to operate, but for now it will only sell its products to venues better able to weather the premium hikes.
All that said, the disc golf course on site is still open for play. A longtime and avid disc golfer, Brown decided to use 30 acres adjacent to the brewery for a course. There were fewer holes and fairways when the first baskets went up in 2017, but it has since developed into a full 18 that just keeps being improved.
Note that this is a course meant for experienced players. Designer Todd Lion – a South Carolina local, seasoned disc golf tournament director, and current Deputy Director of Event Support and Training for the Professional Disc Golf Association – has created a track that will force you to navigate tightly wooded lines as well as keep your discs from disappearing into a sizeable pond.
Or, as one reviewer on UDisc put it, "It ain't easy. But it's real fun."

8. Territorial Brewing Company Disc Golf Course: Springfield, Michigan
Multiple Layouts? Yes
Layout Lengths: Mid-length | Long
Layout Difficulties: Moderate
Tees: Concrete, Grass
Targets: Discraft Chainstar Pro
Free or Pay-to-Play? Free
Course Established: 2020

Food on Site? Yes. Kitchen serves up German specialties plus burgers and sandwiches.
Territorial Brewing Company (TBC) bought the location of a former nine-hole traditional golf course to make into a taproom and restaurant in 2019. The golf course had featured a small disc golf course, but when TBC moved in, they abandoned traditional golf and made all the fairways for discs.
"We had no intention of maintaining a stick golf course and the existing layout had just been sort of an afterthought," said TBC co-owner Tim Davis. "We asked Chad Curtis, our friend and local disc golf legend, for help. He got Nate Lawson to design a new layout and the two of them built the new course. Nate's design was a huge improvement. The course is mostly open and uses every inch of elevation on the property.
The course started out having only grass teeing areas but was recently updated to feature at least one concrete tee for every hole. So that disc golfers at various levels can enjoy themselves, the track has short and long tee positions throughout.
Along with providing a reason for disc golfers to visit, the course gives people enjoying a drink at TBC the chance to take in a live sport.
"Our taproom guests have a great view of holes 10 and 18," Davis said. "The golfers provide some great entertainment for our dining guests but also turn a lot of people on to disc golf that haven't seen it before. They also help highlight our massive, beautiful biergarten."
As for the beers, expect German standards made with TBC's own small twists on classic recipes. Their flagship brew is what they call a Michigan Pilsner, which Davis said is "based on a North German style Pils with an even heartier, clean bitter finish." TBC has a light American lager, a Brut Rosé lager, and a Doppelbock that have all won awards at big beer competitions.
You can pair your disc golf and beer with a full, hot meal from TBC's German-inspired menu whenever the taproom is open.

Food on Site? Check their food truck schedule.
Asheville, North Carolina, is a craft beer enthusiast's heaven in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The city proper boasts around 30 breweries for a population of around just 100,000. When western U.S. craft giants Sierra Nevada and New Belgium looked around for a place to put in east coast locations, they both settled on the Asheville area.
The city's love affair with craft suds started in a 1994 when Highland Brewing Company – founded by retired engineer and entrepreneur Oscar Wong – introduced locals to its Gaelic Ale. This tasty American Amber gained a loyal following, allowing Highland to confidently offer new craft varieties, and the business just kept growing. Today, Highland is the largest family-owned brewery native to the southeastern U.S., and its wide variety of craft beers are highly decorated.
As long and illustrious as Highland's history is by U.S. craft beer standards, it's very willing to progress and innovate. It did just that back in 2021 by adding a disc golf course to some of its wooded 40 acres/16 hectares.
"We are always trying to think of ways to move guests through the property and share the beauty of the land," Highland's Vice President, Brock Ashburn, told us. "The woods were neglected for decades, leading to the spread of multiple invasive species of weeds, vines, and trees. Disc golf is popular here in Asheville and we thought it was a good sport for folks to enjoy with a beer in hand at Highland and help stomp some invasives as they chase their discs all over the woods."
But the course is far more than just chasing discs in the woods.
It boasts two tees per hole (long and short), multiple basket locations (and even multiple baskets on some holes) with pro-level targets, and beautiful signage. The landscape you traverse as you play is exactly what you'd expect in the mountain woods: plenty of elevation and trees. The course is also designed so it's easy to play the front nine, refill your beverage, and either carry on with the challenging back nine or just call it a day.
"The back is much harder than the front, featuring two par 4s with a lot more elevation that really challenges those advanced and professional players!" said Highland sports and recreation coordinator Kyle Fitzpatrick.
You can also expect a well-maintained course thanks to a crew always hungry for work.
"We have beautiful goats who live on our property here and they have done yeoman's work on many of the gnarly invasives that we have worked so hard to clear," Ashburn said.
And if you come on a crowded day, don't get disheartened. You may be able to buy a liquid treat while you wait for a hole to clear as the brewery sends out a bartender with a backpack cooler full of beers on busy disc golf days so players can buy and consume as they play.
"Nothing is better than cold Highland beer and disc golf in the shade!" Ashburn said.
To get a better idea of how the course looks and plays, you can check out the Highland Brewery OTB Tour Skins match produced by GK Pro. In it, four professional disc golfers play to win holes for cash while the camera follows along capturing their banter and warm-hearted trash talk.

6. Trinity at Good Hops Brewing: Carolina Beach, North Carolina
Multiple Layouts? Yes
Layout Lengths: Very Short | Short
Layout Difficulties: Easy
Tees: Concrete, wood
Targets: DISCatcher Pro (original)

Course Established: 2016

Food on Site? No, but Good Hops highly encourages patrons to bring their own food – especially if they get it from a locally-owned restaurant.
Located literally across the street from Carolina Beach State Park, Trinity disc golf course at Good Hops Brewing stands out in this top 10 for a few reasons. It's the sole nine-hole course, and it's also the only one that has layouts exclusively classified as "Easy" in our disc golf course difficulty rating system.
How did a place like this climb so high in rankings othewise filled with 18-hole courses that typically boast at least one layout aimed squarely at experienced disc golfers? It seems most of the nearly 1,000 players who've rated the track are happy to judge it based on what it's meant to be: A fun, introductory-level experience that's a perfect compliment to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere Good Hops fosters.
Good Hops' owner Richard Jones said he had a bit of pressure to install a disc golf course on an unused area of land that came with the brewery location.
"Our son is a close friend of [well-known pro disc golfer] Nate Sexton and plays disc golf in the Asheville area," Jones said. "I had strong influence from them to utilize the four acres our brewery sits on. With the design help of Michael Jones and Chris Richards as well as support from other local businesses, we were able to have a disc golf course on our property within our first year of operations."
The course is made up of short but technical holes that challenge players to avoid the many skinny trees on the property. There are two tees to each of the course's nine baskets (one concrete and one wooden platform), so players can enjoy 18 holes from different tees if they want. The longest hole from any tee is a very family- and beginner-friendly 236 feet/72 meters. Jones told us the course's accessible distances have helped draw people into the sport while its technicality makes things fun for longtime players working on their upshot games.
"We have seen such a growth in new players and we offer a female clinic once a month," Jones said. "We have actually experienced disc golf players stopping in the tap room just to drop off a tip for the opportunity to play even when they do not drink suds."
As for their beer, Good Hops "strive[s] to offer something for everyone." Jones said the brewery's flagships are the Donna Golden Ale from which proceeds "support local causes and charities" and the Flip Hop IPA, which is a "session in nature with a nice hop experience."
If you head to Good Hops, expect a warm welcome.
"We thoroughly enjoy the craft beer tourists as well as the traveling disc golfers," Jones said. "Making friends every day."

5. ULTRA DiscGolfPark at Anheuser-Busch: Fort Collins, Colorado
Number of Holes: 18
Multiple Layouts? Yes
Layout Lengths: Long
Layout Difficulties: Moderate
Tees: Artificial turf
Targets: DiscGolfPark Pro
Free or Pay-to-Play? Free
Course Established: 2020
Photos, hole lengths, current course conditions, and more: ULTRA DiscGolfPark on UDisc Courses
Located just a short drive from the U.S. headquarters of the disc golf equipment company Discmania, which is owned by the same entity – Spin18 – as the course-building company DiscGolfPark, the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado, got a premium disc golf course just a few years ago.
Designed and installed by 2009 Pro Disc Golf World Champion Avery Jenkins, ULTRA DiscGolfPark has quickly become a go-to course for Fort Collins' thriving disc golf league and tournament scene.
The front nine of the course was designed mostly for players without too much experience, but on the back nine, things tend to be longer and trickier.
Expect fairly open and well-groomed fairways that have enough elevation change and mature trees to keep things interesting and challenging. If you're in luck, the Clydesdales might be in Fort Collins when you play.
Before we even had plans to do a post on the top brewery disc golf courses, we released an article that explored the origins of this course and what it was like for Jenkins to introduce disc golf to one of the biggest names in the food and drink industry. You can check it that out in "How Disc Golf Came To The Anheuser-Busch Brewery In Fort Collins, Colorado."

4. Sprinkle Valley Disc Golf Course at Austin Beerworks - Sprinkle Valley: Austin, Texas
Multiple Layouts? Not at the time of publication, but they're in the works.
Layout Lengths: Very long
Layout Difficulties: Very challenging
Tees: Artificial turf
Targets: Black Hole Portal
Free or Pay-to-Play? $3 per player Mon.-Fri. | $5 per player Sat.-Sun.
Course Established: 2023
Photos, hole lengths, current course conditions, and more: Sprinkle Valley Disc Golf Course on UDisc Courses
Food on Site? Yes. Full-time food truck Yellow Bell Tacos.
Sprinkle Valley is Austin Beerworks' second location, and it's much more than just a place to get a drink. Along with its taproom, it boasts a family room, a dog park, a playground, a full-time food truck on site, and both a championship-level disc golf course that's already hosted a Professional Disc Golf Association Major (the 2024 U.S. Women's Disc Golf Championship) and a beginner- and family-friendly putting course. On top of all that, it's also home to the headquarters, warehouse, and storefront of Mint Discs, an Austin-based disc golf equipment company.
Zach Jansen, co-founder of Mint Discs, told us disc golf is meant to be a core part of the experience at Sprinkle Valley whether you're playing or just observing.
"The course was designed to allow patrons to see parts of the disc golf course," Jansen explained. "The course is set up so that both nines loop back to the brewery and Mint store, which also helps everyone interact and create a fun atmosphere."
Though the layout available at Sprinkle Valley at the time of publication was long, difficult, and intended for experienced disc golfers looking for a challenge, work is being done to this very young course to add in short tees and basket positions that will make it enjoyable for a broader spectrum of players.
"This is a very technical course," Jansen said. "We have more elevation and dense forest than any other course in the area. There are more than 20 species of trees on the property, making it a very unique ecosystem. It was designed by Mike Olse to challenge the best in the world while also feeling like a destination experience that all skill levels can enjoy."
But even if Sprinkle Valley's course beats you down a bit, a pint of one of Austin Beerworks' prize-winning creations is sure to help perk you up.
"Our beers have won awards at the two most prestigious beer competitions in the world – the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup – and we’ve been voted 'Best Brewery In Austin' seven times," said Michael Graham, a co-founder of the brewery.
Jansen believes you won't find a similar mix of high quality beer and disc golf in any other major city. After all, Austin's population of nearly 1 million is by far the largest of any other town that's home to a top 10 brewery disc golf course.
"Sprinkle Valley is such a great time for all!" Jansen said. "Having Austin Beerworks and Mint Discs at one location in the heart of the modern Austin metroplex is something no other course in the world can rival."
3. Oakholm Disc Golf at Oakholm Farm Estate & Brewing: Brookfield, Massachusetts
Multiple Layouts? Yes
Layout Lengths: Short | Mid-length | Long
Layout Difficulties: Easy | Moderate | Challenging
Tees: Concrete, gravel
Targets: DISCatcher Pro (28 chains)
Free or Pay-to-Play? $10 per round or $15 per day per player
Course Established: 2022
Photos, hole lengths, current course conditions, and more: Oakholm Disc Golf Course on UDisc Courses
Food on Site? Currently there are food trucks on the weekends. However, Oakholm plans to open a full kitchen servicing the brewery and course in summer 2024.
Disc golfers, don't let the eye rolls and sighs of friends and significant others deter you. Sometimes saying, "You know, you could build a great disc golf course here," actually pays off. If a number of players hadn't done just that, Oakholm Disc Golf may never have existed according to course creator Austin Spencer.
Spencer has been with Oakholm Brewing Company (a part of various offerings at Oakholm Farm Estate) since its beginning – which happened to be in 2020 at one of the worst stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. To adhere to local restrictions and keep patrons as safe as possible, Oakholm turned half of its parking lot into a beer garden, giving all patrons a view of Oakholm's waterfront wedding venue and expansive rural property. Many people were curious about what Oakholm planned to do with all its space.
"An overwhelming amount of these conversations were with disc golfers who said the property would be an ideal spot to have a course," Spencer told us. "As these conversations continued, the idea of having a course on the property started to morph into a plan. The green light was given to start design and development, which was quickly followed by an extensive period of construction leading to the front nine holes opening on May 21, 2022, and the full 18 on June 18, 2023."
The course is almost entirely in the woods, but Spencer said he's worked hard to assure the fairways are well-defined and fair. There are short and long tee pads so players have a good chance of tackling holes that suit their skill level or mood.
"We have seen touring professionals and beginner players enjoy the course equally as much," Spencer said.
Because there are quite a few other disc golf courses nearby, Oakholm is a spot where course-hopping players opt to end a big day in a relaxing atmosphere. It's also a good place for a disc golfer with a non-disc golfing family to slip away for a round without leaving everyone else twiddling their thumbs.
"Having the brewery on site provides a great place to sit and relax after a round and enjoy some good beer, food, and music with friends," Spencer said. "The space is very family-oriented and animal-friendly. We have space in the beer garden for kids to run around and play or feed some of the farm animals."
The array of beers Oakholm brews and serves in its beautiful, wood-filled tap room match the homey feel the location radiates. You'll find a variety of tasty craft standards and a few varieties of New England IPAs to choose from (you are in Massachusetts after all). Spencer pointed to Crooked Post as the brewery's flagship and described it as "a hazy New England Style IPA bursting with ripe citrus, tropical fruits, and earthy pine notes in both flavor and aroma."

2. Jenkins Mountain Disc Golf at Little Washington Winery & Skyline Brewery: Washington, Virginia
Multiple Layouts? Not at the time of publication, but a set of short tees is in the works.
Layout Lengths: Very long
Layout Difficulties: Challenging
Tees: Artificial turf
Targets: Mach V
Free or Pay-to-Play? Free
Course Established: 2020
Photos, hole lengths, current course conditions, and more: Jenkins Mountain Disc Golf Course on UDisc Courses
Food on Site? Snacks but no full restaurant/kitchen.
Both house-brewed beer and disc golf are fairly recent additions to Virginia's Little Washington Winery, which sits on over 50 acres/20 hectares in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The winery has been open since 2011, but both beer and disc golf came to the property in the last four years.
The brewery is called Skyline Brewing, and it produces nano-brews in batches of just 35 gallons. Because Skyline makes each beer in such low quantities, the beer on tap is always fresh, and they feel free to experiment.
"The glory of the nano-brew style is we can go wild using our system to debut new suds every week!" said owner Donna Henrickson. "Our goal is to span the realm of craft brew styles and use them each to teach the subtle flavor differences of beer."
Though they love being creative, the crew has found a recipe they like to keep in steady rotation.
"While doing some R&D we found an old recipe called Jenkins Mountain Brown Ale," Donna explained. "We are located on Big Jenkins Mountain and Little Jenkins Mountain! So this brew just had to be part of the offering."
Donna said the concoction "drops a bready, biscuity, and toasty malt aroma with mild roastiness, and caramelly, nutty, toffee-like flavors."
It's no accident that the brewery and the disc golf course were added in around the same time. Donna's son, David Henrickson, is a disc golf fanatic, and he made the sage observation that "55 acres, beer, and bathrooms equals the perfect trifecta for disc golf."
The original course was designed for experienced players and has pro-level turf tees. A new set of short tees is in the works (seven are already in) that will make Jenkins Mountain a more enjoyable disc golf experience for a wider variety of players.
"With the addition of the new shorter tee pads, we've hosted several events with the Northern Virginia Women’s Disc Golf Club," David told us. "These events are typically one round and cater to players of a broad range of skill and experience. The women's club is very deliberate about building a sense of community, support, and encouragement and we're proud to be a part of these efforts to grow our local disc golf community."
Many holes at Jenkins Mountain have generous fairways that challenge players to master the Blue Ridge's inevitable elevation changes. If they don't, there's often brush or high grass waiting as a consequence. Notably, though, the Jenkins Mountain team has put in a lot of work to tame off-fairway areas as the course has matured.
Along with challenge, the mountain location offers great views of surrounding peaks as well as the property's vineyards and orchards. Encounters with wildlife are also common.
"Sometimes the big disc golf story of the day includes an encounter with an occasional fox den, picnicking bears, deer dinner parties, gaggles of ducklings, and turkeys galore," Donna said. "We also grow various crops, including grapes, hops, hay, peaches, apples, pears, honey, wild blackberries, and wine berries."
David told us that the high quality disc golf mixed with the great wine, beer, and location has made Jenkins Mountain something of "a regional and national disc golf destination."
"We get disc golfers traveling from around the United States and sometimes internationally," David said.

1. Norbrook Farm Disc Golf Course at Norbrook Farm Brewery: Colebrook, Connecticut
Multiple Layouts? No
Layout Length: Mid-length
Layout Difficulty: Moderate
Tees: Brick/pavers
Targets: DISCatcher Pro (original)
Free or Pay-to-Play? Free
Course Established: 2018
Photos, hole lengths, current course conditions, and more: Norbrook Farm Disc Golf Course on UDisc Courses
Food on Site? Yes. The brewery offers food at all times that it's open and welcomes food trucks on the weekends.
Norbrook Farm is not only the best brewery disc golf course in the world but the reigning best disc golf course in all of Connecticut. The track is wooded New England charm with a few real bombs thrown in. Signage, clear fairways, paver tees, pro-level baskets, and a course designed for experienced players have all helped this brewery course become a regional must-play.
Disc golf started at Norbrook as a way to attract patrons from surrounding towns and cities to its expansive rural property.
"When the brewery was in the planning stages, our Brewmaster – Colin Coan, who has friends in the disc golf scene – found out that the property has close to 500 acres [202 hectares]," Norbrook co-owner John Auclair told us. "It was suggested to us to design and construct a course as a way to draw people in."
And though the course, like Norbrook's mountain biking and hiking trails, does lure passers-through and outdoorsy day trippers out to Norbrook Farm, it has also helped create loyal patrons.
"The players tend to become regular customers at the brewery – we know them by name and they know us," Auclair said. "They help with the course maintenance and let us know if it's something they can't handle and our maintenance people need to step in."
The brewery also has loaner disc sets that Auclair said have been "a big hit with groups or families looking for a new experience."
As for beer, expect that a style you enjoy will be on tap at this award-winning brewery. They always have Saison, Porter, Kölsch, IPAs, and a Brown Ale ready to pour while other taps feature rotating selections.

Honorable Mentions: Best Brewery Disc Golf Courses
Because this list is meant to showcase destination disc golf courses, we excluded facilities meant exclusively for putting practice from the top 25. However, we didn't want to snub them entirely as they're great places for newer players to experience the sport in a low-stakes, extremely fun way.
There were two putting courses that would have been in the top 25 if we hadn't set that parameter:
The course in Bend is at a brewery founded, owned, and operated by two multitime professional world champion disc golfers: Nate Doss and Valarie Jenkins. You can learn more about what it was like for the two to leave pro disc golf behind and focus on building this business in a previous Release Point post.
Sprinkle Canyon is the little sibling of the world's #4 brewery disc golf course, Sprinkle Valley, and it can be found on the same property at Austin Beerworks' Sprinkle Valley location.
