Seems as though the whole course has been demolished, locals have done what they can to preserve some assemblance of a well flowing open course. Still very playable and fun.

Fun course but needs some work. Lots of trees were just cleared on holes 1 and 2 (it needed it too). Some silver baskets are missing. Hole 18 baskets are missing and you play an alternative basket around hole 6. A much more variety needs to be had on some of the holes for the two different layouts. Some minor elevation changes and some scary shots near the water. Views were pretty at sunset on the water. Glad we made the stop, but it’s not a destination course.

Definitely was a great course at some point. but now it’s pretty confusing and not a lot of shot variety.

It will be nice when they finish the work. Half the holes are rough plowed fields.

Aug. 16 2025 - The Rez is on the rise again! Give us a year or 2 and we’ll have a beautiful place to toss! Layout is completely different besides “birdie bay” (old 15,16,17) and old hole 11. May 2025 - New Layout is in Progress, messy right now 2023 - I have played this course for over 10 years. It’s going through a bad time right now due to a few different things. 2 years ago they started the “Construction” on hole 18, which is unplayable for now. This has caused a dreadful walk from 17 to 1. Due to hole 18, the club made the “A” hole between 6/7 to have 18 holes. This past year we had a Drought and a Pine Beetle infestation, the city is chopping down several pine trees due to this. It will affect The Rez and OTP. They already started this task on hole 2. If you see blue paint on a tree, it will be chopped down eventually. Many holes will be severely altered. The Club raised money to purchase new baskets (Blue Layout) for the course in 2022. We decided to create a more beginner friendly layout with the old baskets (Silver Layout). There has also been new pin positions added on several holes for the blue layout. All of these things combined has caused tee signs to be inaccurate, direction around the course to be confusing, lack of interest to detail by the community (with reason), long walks between holes, and eyesores to our once beautiful course. To my knowledge, the general plan is to create new signs, revive 18, and get the course back on its feet once construction is finished. So, I give it a generous 3.5 for now. In my honest opinion, I can see this course being one of the best in Mississippi again no sooner than 2028. Unfortunately, the city will likely just turn it into a landfill soon after that.

Glad this course is open now! I can see it has potential to be really good, but it’s still a work in progress. Only 15 holes are open at the time of this review (September 1, 2025), but there is a good balance of distances and all the par seems reasonable. I’d rather have a solid 15 holes than a mediocre 18 holes so I like what they’re doing so far. Shout-out to all the great people who put their heads together and brought this course back to life 🙌 looking forward to seeing what else is next at the Rez.

The blues are nice challenge, and the silvers are a great time. Nice course variety, and the shade is great.

Really cool course with multiple baskets for every hole. Only complaints are about the construction and how far hole 18 is from the start

Great course. Can be confusing if you’ve never played there. No signage for silver tee placement but you think there is because the tee signs have silver basket locations on them for one of the optional blue basket placements. New Tee signs would really be amazing for this course.

Update: they had to cut a bunch of pines and they just left them there. No support from Pearl River WD. Only thing keeping it from a 5 is lack of any elevation change because the park is flat. New layout for the short course is a nice change.

Have always loved this course been playing it for 6 or 7 years i like the few switch ups in pin positions and added short lay out but due to PRV ruining hole 18 and cutting the dead trees and just leaving them piled up in the woods it has messed up the look and play of this course. The club does the best they can but PRV is ruining it
