Will be a fun and very technical woods course once the tee pads go in. I’d like to see a few more trees removed from the fairways, but it seemed like there were tight lines to the basket on nearly every hole.

Always exciting to see a new DG course pop up in your area! Kudos to the Round Lake Park District and those responsible for carving out this course! This course is definitely RAW, as expected, but the obvious effort and skill in course design is on display! The mulch-lined fairways are well defined and wide enough to enjoy the flight of a well thrown disc. The pond on the property is utilized well for the first two holes; and all other holes are skillfully placed away from walking paths, swampy lowlands and the new playground. Several baskets look secondhand with rusted chain links, but so be it; whatever it takes to get a course in the ground! Based on the length and the multitude of trees in play on every shot, I’d label this as an intermediate level course. It’s a challenging layout with nothing under 250 feet. No shorty ace runs for us noodle arms or beginners. I was looking forward to a birdie run when seeing hole 5 was listed at 165 feet. Wrong! It’s actually 325 feet. My only critical comment is the lack of one or two holes under or near 200 feet is a shame. An ace run hole is a big attention getter and a draw for beginners. I can’t wait to bump up my rating once tee pads and signage are in place! Hopefully soon…
