@djchagnon
homeless camp….
@scottyq
It's an old city park course that's more about rambling about an old city park than a scintillating disc golf experience. I never found the official 5th or 8th tee pads or the 9th basket, but I sure had fun!
@borser1
Decent beginners course. There are signs at tee boxes but no tee pads and no wayfinding signs. Baskets are kinda old and some are lopsided. Course doesn’t seem to be kept up regularly. That being said there was some decent shot variety although course was fairly easy.
@jamesbreen8
Holes 2 and 5 have no fairway and no baskets, many holes are overgrown, and upkeep seems minimal. There is some open field area that's good for fieldwork, but fieldwork is all I would ever use Gowen Park for.
@dobetter
Worst course ever?
@discgolfphoenix
A public park 9-hole course that needs some love & attention. Feedback states issues with city of Sanford. Original 2006 single chain baskets and fun Ace lines for a short 9-holer. Great place for a quick lunch break, practice round, Ace runs, etc. The wooded backdrop provides great scenery and potential wildlife off the large pond. Underrated course.
@gstarbrook
It was fine, nothing amazing, but close to home
@aboulay15
While the course is located in a park maintained by the city, the course itself is not. The city was reluctant to allow this course at all and it's been entirely neglected since it's inception in 2008 due to the fact, it's illegal for anyone to do anything without the citys approval. Has a lot of potential and is an alright course to play. Personally I avoid holes 4 and 5 altogether, 4 has a nonexistent lane and 5 is a health hazard due to drug users leaving paraphernalia on the ground.
@jlippa
Bring bug spray for tics due to long grass never cut. Watch out for poison ivy. Over all this is a good course but needs TLC for maintenance
@keating
Fun runs. Not ace many aces runs as you would like but more of a challenge which is enjoyable.
@mint21
If it's your first time on Gowen it's going to be a struggle. Very poorly marked but once you figure it out it's not bad. Yes some cages are bent/leaning. All in all it's a decent little course with a variety of different shots and makes for a great quick practice round.
@skhothill
Terrible. It’s not a course. It’s a park with leaning baskets strewn through the place. I would love to see someone from the parks and rec pull out all the baskets and start fresh.
@gyrojared
A bit tough to navigate and baskets aren’t the best but once you figure it out/make you’re own layout it’s a fun free place to play. Beautiful park
@discguy51
Wish it was 18 but fun
@metrickd
Needs maintenance, hole 4 and 5 don't have designed pads so you have to guess. other than that it's good practice for putter shota
@aaronbeaudin
No maintenance and the course set up makes no sense.
@sperrin03462
Great potential to be a disc golf course with some TLC. Unplayable right now
@jacobpelletier
Trees have fallen in the course, there only about 4 holes marked, and the tee boxes are nearly nonexistent.
@jnobrien16
Pretty much unplayable. A few of the baskets were completely overgrown. Difficult to find where the course starts and where the next hole is. You could only play about 4 holes.
