About the course

This is a 18 hole layout with 9 baskets and dual tee boxes. The course is in a floodplain for the Vermillion River and is very flat, but during rainy times the course can flood. Mostly open but there are some tunnel shots, and #3 is definitely a challenge as you have to decide whether to carry the river off of the tee. This is a great course if you love to fish, as the Vermillion River is stocked with trout and there are a number of good fishing locations right off of the course.

I really wish that I could rate this course higher but, in all honesty, it is one of the worst courses that I have played. This course has tee pads made of pavers and rough that makes finding discs very challenging. Be prepared to deal with stinging nettle. Hole three brings the river into play in a way that almost assures the loss of a disc. There are far better courses close by that I would choose to play before Empire.

The only thing going for this course is that it has some technicality. Besides that, the layout isn’t overly interesting and the tees are bad. Playing this blind with UDisc made was still confusing.
