@fartpants
Average course that you’ve played before with no stand out holes. Not very challenging either and half the fairways were shaped from grass. It has good tees and baskets though and a few layout options. You don’t drive 2 hours (as I did) for “#5 in PA” and get this. It’s average.. down rate this course
@zackaneckstein
Definitely not a top 100 course in the world, but still a solid. Arguably top 10 in the state. Some solid holes, some not
@bwalsh
This isn't a bad course, but I would hardly classify it as one of the best in Pennsylvania. The fairways are perfectly maintained. The challenges are fair. The scenery is okay. The infrastructure is fine. But what sets apart truly phenomenal courses from any given above average course is a convergence of venue and challenge attained by using the natural setting to make the course feel like a part of it. No course does this perfectly-- especially not Broken Chains with barely any hills, short stints in the woods and too many wide open fairways. Again, I still think the course is really good. However, it hasn't earned its place alongside the truly great standout PA courses. If you choose to play here, you'll have a good time, but temper your expectations a bit in light of that crazy high rating.
@kenallard
This is a MUST play! This is a great use of the land. Mix of open holes and wooded. Open holes have obstacles/OB to make them challenging. Boot scrapers at every tee sign. I wish this was my home course! Challenging but fair. 2 tee pads and 2 baskets on almost every hole. Still in need of more updated tee signs but it was easy to navigate. The only issue I had was the arrow and sign after hole 16 directed you to cross back over the fairway to get to 17, it should have you go towards the gold basket and follow the path to 17.
@garrettjrussell
Just play the blue layout. Longs have a few unnecessary Mando's that are beyond ridiculous and not needed. Some fairways for long need serious cleaning. Example, hole 6 long you are throwing into trees with no line. Definitely not a top 100, but decently fun.
@johnfolk
One or two holes in question but otherwise it’s an awesome course with great tee areas good baskets and a true golf feel. Very good
@joeluhlmeyer
Good course that can be a great course with some improvements. Currently, the long layout does not offer a significant challenge for AM players. The longs also suffer from being easier to birdie than the shorts, which is always a negative for me. Additionally a few of the signs have the colors for the holes switched which is pretty confusing. Other than these issues this is a good course that is incredibly well maintained and fun to play. Good mix of shots through varied fairways.

I don’t leave 5 star ratings often, because a course can always improve somehow. However Broken chains has exceeded all my expectations, with the addition of two layouts via extra teepees and baskets, this course has it all. The only thing I don’t like is the prodigy baskets. But that doesn’t deserve to lose a star. 10/10 top 100 on East coast
@gabe1111
Great variety, defined fairways, scenic, signs, drinks and snack on hole 7!
@dkelly18
One of the nicest courses I’ve played out of 85 courses. Everything just flows amazingly and everything is clearly marked. Recently they added long tee pads and it gives it a very nice touch. If you’re in the area or thinking above making the drive it’s 100% worth it
@mikemcg
Terrific work. Continuous improvement from day 1. I remember weed whacking hole 7 when it was put in. Impressed with what it’s become today.
@saucertosser21
Super well maintained and nicely put together course… Lots of short technical holes as well as some gettable bombers with well defined OB. Some parts of the rough you may be liable to lose a disc but overall a great place for a fun and relaxing round.
@joemye
Lotta thorns and brush in the rough. But that’s where thorns and brush belong.
@lordtamale
One of my favorite courses to play. I haven't seen better upkeep/upgrades anywhere!
@shawnbackhand
Cool course, love the shots and the tall grass OB. Feels like a flatter Shiprock.
@genjiro
This is a great course with lots of potential! It’s a nice mixture of open and wooden holes enough short holes with ace run potential and some long open bomber holes. Once this course gets polished I’d probably raise it 4 1/2 stars.
