Here you can find the top disc golf courses in every province and territory in Canada based on ratings in UDisc's disc golf course directory, the best way to find disc golf courses anywhere in the world thanks to disc golfers with the UDisc disc golf app.

Note that we occasionally use the word "divisions" in place of "provinces and territories" in this post.

Click or tap a province or territory to see its five best disc golf courses:

Alberta Nunavut
British Columbia Ontario
Manitoba Prince Edward Island
New Brunswick Quebec
New Foundland & Labrador Saskatchewan
Northwest Territories Yukon
Nova Scotia

Which Provinces & Territories Have the Strongest Top 5 Disc Golf Courses?

Rank Province/Territory Average World Rank of Top 5 Courses Change in Avg. World Rank 2024 to 2025 Population
1 Alberta 178 40 4,960,097
2 Ontario 200 29 16,124,116
3 British Columbia 209 31 5,719,594
4 Quebec 784 179
9,111,629
5 Prince Edward Island 813 245 179,280

The same five provinces had the strongest top five courses in 2024, but there have been some changes.

Alberta was behind both Ontario and B.C. last year, but a relativley slight increase in world rank average for Alberta and slight decreases for Ontario and B.C. allowed Alberta to leapfrog to #1 in 2025. While Albertans get some bragging rights, the differences are truly very slight as the 15 courses that make up the top fives for the three provinces all rank among the top 2% of courses in the world.

Quebec and P.E.I. kept the same ranks as last year though both saw fairly significant gains in the average world ranks of their top fives.

How Old Are the Top Disc Golf Courses in Canada's Provinces & Territories?

Province/Territory Average Age of Top 5 Courses
Newfoundland & Labrador 2.4
Northwest Territories 3.0
New Brunswick 5.8
Prince Edward Island 6.8
Nova Scotia 8.0
Quebec 8.0
Yukon 8.8
Manitoba 9.4
Ontario 10.0
Saskatchewan 10.4
British Columbia 14.8
Alberta 16.8
Nunavut 18.0

For the most part, the top courses in Canada's provinces and territories opened in the last decade, which has been a booming one for disc golf growth in general.

Here are some other interesting tidbits about the ages of top courses across the Great White North:

  • Only two courses in any of the top fives first opened before 2000 – and both opened before 1990: Golf Island in British Columbia (1980) and Canmore Nordic Centre in Alberta (1989).
  • The average age of all #1 courses is about nine years. That average is just 0.3 years different if you take out Nunavut and the Northwest Territories' #1s (which you might do since both places only had one course eligible for our rankings).
  • The youngest #1 course in any province is Le Phoenix in Quebec, which opened up in 2023.

Ranking the Five Best Disc Golf Courses in Every Canadian Province & Territory

If you're curious about some of the details behind the rankings, here are the basics:

  • How did you find all the courses?
As we mentioned earlier, thanks to disc golfers across the world, UDisc Courses is the most comprehensive and frequently updated disc golf course directory in existence. A course had to be in the UDisc directory to make it into this post.
  • Were any kinds of courses ineligible?
Courses that weren't available for play at least 120 days of the year were not included. We also didn't include any courses specifically meant for putting practice.
  • How did you create the rankings?
The rankings are based on a methodology that applies more weight to recent ratings and helps identify which courses with excellent but relatively few ratings are true destinations rather than just local faves. Notably, due to this methodology, some courses that have higher average ratings in the UDisc Courses directory may be ranked below courses with lower average ratings.

All courses were subject to the same metrics, and no course was moved up or down the rankings based on the preferences of UDisc staff.
  • Why are some courses that have lower average ratings on UDisc Courses ranked above courses with higher average ratings?
The answers to "How did you create the rankings?" explain how this could happen.

What to Know Before Reading the Rankings

  • You'll find the results listed alphabetically by state name (i.e., we start at Alberta's top five disc golf courses and end with Yukon's). You can also just jump to a specific province or territory's top five from the province and territory list.
  • Mobile and tablet users can swipe left/right on any table to see all columns.
  • Each course's name is linked to its UDisc Courses page. There you can see photos, reviews, layout difficulty ratings, availability, and more of any course in the table.
  • The ▲ and ▼ refer to how a course's rank within its province/territoy's top five relates to its position last year. "Same" means a course's position didn't alter and "new" means a course wasn't in the top five in 2024.
  • The rankings in this list may differ from what appears on divisions' Disc Golf Places pages. We used slightly different calculations to create these tables than what you'll find on Disc Golf Places. Additionally, rankings on Disc Golf Places will change throughout the year as disc golfers experience and rate courses.
