Maybe the folks complaining about gopher holes should stick to the manicured ball golf courses... This course has a decent variety of shot types as well as alternate tee pads and some additional baskets. There are a lot of holes in the 350-380 range with some gaps right off the tees, some low ceiling shots, and some protected baskets with moderate to very open fairways. Overall I'd say it has a good variety of shots for the intermediate to advanced player. I threw high turnovers, spike hyzers, rollers, hyzer flips.... plenty to choose from and have fun. The park is huge and on a Tuesday evening the non disc park goers were out, but somewhat sparse. That being said, wayfinding is pretty difficult without the app. Some holes play close to cars parked in the lot which was kind of annoying but not an issue. Some tee pads are painted on walkways, and a handful are rubber mats, but overall in good shape with a lot of big new pads. The large trees also make for some nice shade! Definitely check Whittier out, I had a blast my first time here!

Update: lots of new trees. More challenging now. park free on the north side street right next to hole 4 and walk through. Bathroom is right there as well. Many holes have big gaps or wide open. This park is massive. 27 holes about 3.5 miles flat walking. I played till 1:30pm and the course was empty when I finished. It is 75* high and sunny. Insane that I had the entire park to myself. Not too many park goers, so I hardly ever had to wait.

Fun course, lots of variety in shots and distance. Some long par 4s (one nearly 700ft) but fun and doable. I shot +2, my husband shot +6 only because he had some terrible spit outs. We also got to chat with the course designer, he was a nice guy and is definitely looking to do things here (more improvements/events). We’ll be back! Come check it out for yourself

Dope old-school vibe. Low-key beautiful open park golf that requires a decent arm. Sneaky views and beautiful atmosphere

Zero elevation in play. Holes double back on themselves so there are always people in the way. Flow is not intuitive at times. Incredibly uneven ground; you can sprain an ankle just by walking naturally

Pretty generic park course made special by having 27 holes. The park is flat, but the grass isn't, so walking the course is sort of a slog; definitely skip this one if you have ankle problems. I'm glad to have played it once, but probably won't come back.

It’s an average course with fun, open drives and some cool, technical shots. Only downside is the terrain is horrendous with holes everywhere.

The course has alot of bumps that you can twist an ankle, the course has the same shorts over and over. Not worth playing the 27 holes. Only hole I enjoy were 2-6.

Grass is a bit long in places and non-existent in other places. Hole 2 play with Mando around electric tower was a bit fun and different. Most other holes are fairly similar and pleasant but not exciting. Good practice, though, and you won't lose a disc here. There is a bathroom in the park. Nice shade on a few holes to keep comfortable on a hot day. Overall, an average course which was an enjoyable stop off the freeway for disc golf and a nice walk.

Wildly underrated, but I guess haters gonna hate. Very solid medium-long par 3 course. One of the oldest, and one of the best in LA County, for sure. Fantastic practice course, as well. Always quiet. Whittier Wides is the best course in Los Angeles.

Old baskets. Poor signage. Some holes don’t have tee pads. Course doesn’t really flow well. Lackluster course but worth a stab if you haven’t played before.

Pin indicators on signs would be nice but that’s my only complaint. Nice course, fun with the wind.

I am not a fan of the uneven soft ground everywhere. Layout is confusing, I hope it's because it's going through a redesign. As with most of the course in the LA area, baskets and tee pads are in need of an upgrade.
