This course made me reconsider everything I've done wrong in my life. From the course design to the lack of upkeep, every hole was punishment. After five holes I just walked the rest of the course and was astonished to see such lack of creativity. I mean, I love a good tunnel shot but every single hole?? Not to mention the tee pads had literal holes in them. This course was so bad, I genuinely believe it is a bit or a prank to the community. At least that's what I'm telling myself so the triple winding 624 foot par 3 doesn't keep me up at night.
@kingcoolin
Very disappointing experience here. Dont even throw until you see the basket it's not worth it.
@kgatlw
Someone has made new directional signs and cleared the fairway (narrow trail) compared t the last 3+ years. The first four are similar to the other course but then it’s 600’+, 400’+ and others over 3’ down a narrow trail. I stopped after 9 holes. But…it is miles better than what it used to be and UDisc is fairly accurate with the pads and baskets but the fairway isn’t notated.
@jreese82
Possibly the worst course I have ever played. It is basically abandoned. Unless you have the ability to phase through trees or bend your shots 90 degrees multiple times on one throw don't bother. All pars are unrealistic with the exception on the first 4-5 holes. My favorite example is hole #7, a 425 foot par 3 with 4-5 dog legs and the fairway is about 6 feet wide. This place would make a great mountain bike trail as the course itself is useless.
@johnreighard
Of all the overgrown, neglected courses...this course is nearly unplayable now. I stopped after the front 9, I couldn't find a tee pad to start the back half. Most tee pads are useless anyway, most fairways need to be walked to find LZs/baskets, and fallen trees obstruct cart use. A bag isn't necessary either, this placement golf only needs a few putters. That being said, I hope some course maintenance will bring Whispering Pines back to life again.
@lukerich87
Course is not great seams like random basket placement and no real lines to hit. Like they said its a winding hiking trial with basket and tee pad along the way.
@sammons68
This course is so overgrown and unplayable, it’s sad. It could be a really great course if it were just maintained. None of the distances match with the actual hole distance. Most are between 350-450 feet and a few are closer if not more than 600 feet.
@digdugdiscs
If it could be zero stars I’d put it. The county has a huge opportunity to be the only 2 course park in the county and absolutely dropped the ball. Disc golf is bigger than ever and tournaments could bring money into the park
@hampoop
Why is this even a thing? Like don’t waste ur time. Tunnel shots that are really hiking trails. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. It’s the worst set up, don’t think oh I’m a good player. No player is getting thru this course
@godsdefender777
Pros: Technical course Tunnel shots Good wayfinding Cons: Tee pads are rough Not well kept up (overgrown) Shot design for some holes are more like walking trails Signage could be better
@bird17
I'm not super technical so it was hard for me fist three holes were good
@samwhite006
Good luck. This was my review 2 years ago. Today, course might be slightly more cleared out, but it’s more of a walking trail with disc golf baskets than anything. Edibles must have kicked in for the course designers around hole 6 cause it starts to get pretty stupid. Don’t waste your time.
@goofydg
Way to long and needs new tee pads
@kgb1984
Holes #1-5 are tight but ok. #6-18 is just a walking trail with baskets. These holes could use a bush hogging 10ft on both sides of the trail. Just to make it playable! Even better just control burn that part of the course! I see the vision but it's a long ways away.
@dfugate1988
The course needs some serious cleanup. As well as the distances and pars being way off with the current layout
@superbreeze
This course is pretty much unplayable!!! Just walking from the tee pad to the basket is a challenge! This course needs a lot of work, and could actually be a very good course as long as it was maintained, but if you’re thinking about playing this course, bring a box of tissues because you’re gonna need them. Play the white layout!!!
@tladue
Consequential!
