My family and I were lucky enough to be the first non-designer/developers to play this course as recreational disc golfers! What a joy it was! My family (wife, daughter age six, daughter age four) and I were visiting Portugal for a few weeks, so I figured I should bring along some discs in case the opportunity arose. We were in the general area when a new course popped up on the UDisc map. I reached out to Christian via email then WhatsApp based on the number listed in UDisc. He responded quickly with an invitation and some basic information about the course. I asked if there were any good alternate activities for the family while we played a round and he said to bring them along for the experience. About five minutes out from the course we found ourselves driving up into some friendly mountains, covered in old oak, bay, and cork trees. We arrived to find a small assortment of typical country buildings over looking a little valley. We met Christian in person as well as Helena on a cobblestone road above a brand new white practice basket. We learned that in the past month they have been working very hard on this privately owned 18 hole course. Their progress after only a month is truly inspiring. The first thing that jumps out about the course itself is the quality of the gold T pads. They are massive! Each one is a stand alone wooden deck structure with green turf, as well as a small guard at the end to prevent slippage. They are generally twice the size of normal cement tee pads in the USA. The blue tees are a more standard size, but still very high quality. The red tees are marked with a couple of blocks on flat areas of natural land and mostly play as a pitch and putt distance fit for children or beginners. On the very first hole you get to meet some of the local characters that inhabit the disc golf course full time. Three friendly guard dogs will do no more than lick you to death. They are guarding a charming little house full of goats. The first five holes play through tight tree lines. There are significant elevation changes and small, manmade drainages offer some hazard ob lines crossing through the fairways for added challenge. An island hole as well as variation between par three and four increases course diversity. Hole six - nine open up into some green fields with potential to throw your greatest distance. Elevation is once again a factor, as well as some fence line ob. Hole nine in particular feels like an iconic shot, a perfectly plumb window between two large conifers into an open downhill with a hanging basket. Both Christian and I went ob right on this one, but I tragically lost one into a voracious pile of thorns. Christian generously attempted a recovery, but a part of my bag will have to remain in Portugal. This was certainly my daughter’s favorite area, because there were six friendly donkeys who formed an escort for our party. They weren’t fond of being ridden, but they were good with the small kiddos and quite lovable. My youngest named her favorite donkey ‘curly boy’ and hasn’t stopped talking about it since. Holes 10 - 14 had defined throwing lanes along a path or road with trees or fences serving as obstacles. Unfortunately we had to end our round at hole 14 because my kids simply ran out of gas. Christian and Helena were so graciously patient with my family while we stopped constantly for kid throws or animal interaction. On the way out we fed some tiny ponies orange peels, which was a true cherry on top for my wife and daughters. The disc golf course construction that has happened after only a month of work is extremely impressive. All baskets are installed, many beautiful tee pads finished, historic wells covered with wire mesh to avoid loosing discs, and tons of brush cleared for established greens. This course is already a real triumph, as it has several elements found on the world’s best disc golf courses. I can’t wait to come back to play the finished product. Though the course is private, Christian informed me the intent is for it to always be free to play to all who make the journey to the beautiful Valle D’encanto. Thank you so much to Christian and Helena for a very unique disc golf experience that my whole family greatly enjoyed! If you are anywhere near the area and you like disc golf it is definitely worth your time! Note: I rated everything as a five on UDisc based on the projected finished product. Things like benches are certainly to come and I didn’t want to sell this place short since it is still under construction.

Sanna mina ord.

The hospitality of the people of Valle D'Encanto is unmatched and the course is awesome. It offers 3 different layouts for every level of discgolfer. GOLD for the professionals, BLUE for amateurs and RED for complete beginners and kids. Bring your family and friends and explore the landscape, meet the animals and pick fruits to snack on right off the trees! You don't want to miss out on playing the best course Portugal has to offer.

This is as close as you can get to paradise! The nature at Valle D’Encanto is beautiful and you get to experience so much while playing a round here. Don’t forget to look around you and see everything the course has to offer: ancient trees, farm animals, fruits and some creeks with drinkable water! The course design is amazing with a lot of variation both in shot shapes and elevation. Gold+Blue layout tees are great! The hospitality of the people behind the course is what makes me want to move to Portugal! I will come back every year❤️🐐

A most incredible course. We had a guide as the first time through would have been a bit difficult for the first time as it is a very treed course. One of the best disc golf courses I’ve ever played!

One of the best courses I've ever played! Amaral is an ambitious visionary of the course and gets things done, here. The variety and challenge of this course is top notch and worthy of tournament play. It's absolutely stunning to see all the plant and animal life throughout the course. One thing to note - there are farm animals on multiple holes and 2 very friendly dogs, so be prepared for some natural fertilizer, but the animals give enough space to make your shots! Please close any gates you open to access your discs. This course is still being modified, but it's already completed to satisfactory standards. Come support your local Portuguese DG!

This is a brand new course not even one year old. There’s several layouts. The property owners incredibly friendly and accommodating. The design of the course of spectacular. When you need it most you jump in a pool. Several holes have a gallery of spectators you’ll know when you go. This course has very strong potential to be one of the best in the world. The location is outstanding. The challenge is exceptional. The scenery is spectacular. I hope to play again.

First off, the hospitality is unmatched. Christian and Amaral (not sure of spelling?) were as gracious hosts as I've experienced. Thank you both. The level of work they have put in over a short amount of time is astonishing. Each hole has 3 sets of tees with kids/beginner, intermediate, and pro level tees. There is a nice variety of shots and elevation changes. It was nice to play a different type/style of course as it was my first time to play in Europe as I was visiting from the US. Some of the views are absolutely breathtaking. There is definitely a lot of elevation change so be prepared for that. Some of the bonuses of the course were lots of farm animals to pet and interact with, a swimming pool on hole 13 where you can stop and take a dip and grab a drink or beer, and just the little extras they do to make sure you have a great experience. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and go check it out. There was more work going on and I'm sure it will continue to get better every day. Thanks again and truly appreciate the way you made us feel welcomed

One of the Best, so far, Disc golf Park in Europe i have visited and played. From Live animals to plants, swimming Pool , acomodation, lay outs, and Most important of all, the Park Managers, Chris and Helena, are the Most friendly Person you can find, and they can play very good too. They Met us at the Park entrance, played a round with us and explained how to get around the Park and the Layouts.(4x)…Blue, red, yellow and white. Invited us to take a break and cool down between hole 12 and 13 and Swing a Little Bit….amazing. An experience that will last forever. Thanks Chris and Helena 👏🙏🥏 Recomended 100%

5/5! This amazing course nestled in the foothills of Portugal was only topped by the hospitality of the hosts. There is also a 3 bedroom house available to stay in (inquire to the host about it). Beautiful views, very technical and diverse shots, and lots of friendly wildlife. I played while they were still finishing up the details of the course and it was still much better than most in the world. They are also have a eco-tourism branch. Can’t say enough positive things about the experience on this course. A++

I had a great time playing with Christian and Helena here! I was greeted by some friendly dogs on the first tee and saw loads of different farm animals during the round 😄 I really liked the variety of the holes, uphill, downhill and flat shots. There was some shorter holes but dont get fooled by the lenght, they are still very difficult. I was offered some beverages during the round which was really nice. They also let me pick oranges from nearby trees to get a little mid-round snack 😁 At the time of my visit, the course was only 2 months old so there is still work to do such as building stairs. The ground was a little bit muddy after some rain during last night so my shoes got a little bit wet. Thank you for letting me play on this awesome course🙂

This course is going to be something special. It’s easy to forget how new the course is because the design is already top-notch, with 4 different layouts that cater to different types of players. There’s a mix of woods and park style holes with some OB based on the property. The teepads, signage, and other course infrastructure make the course feel professional. Amaral and Christian have big plans to incorporate the course into a larger ecotourism project in the area. You’ll see animals, swimming pools, and beautiful views. If they see their vision through it’ll have even more than that in 5 years. There’s still a little work that needs to be done to clean up the lines or rough on a few holes. Very excited to see the permanent clubhouse come to the course.

A lot of different holes uphill, downhill, across valleys. Tee area's are really good. Friendly animals, access to bathroom and water if necessary. I didn't try out the pool but it looked really tempting. Overall an excellent course

The course was amazing! So much work put it in a short time and a true championship level course built in Portugal. There is amateur and pro tees and you can play either and feel challenged in a fair way. When we played the signage was not yet in place but it was compensated by Christian’s personal introduction to the course. We actually stayed until late in Amaral’s club house and have to say this disc golf experience is unique.
