About the course

BEFORE PLAYING: Due to excessive negative feedback, this course is CLOSED to the general public. Only members of the Trinity community, should be using this course. Security enforced! For alumni and friends, play is not permitted during school hours. Please only park in the gravel parking area behind the baseball field near the Wright House. This 9 hole, wooded course is the home course for the Trinity Disc Golf Team and Club. With plenty of wooded gaps, students will be able to work on shot shaping, speed control, and disc selection. White tees will provide students with an average challenge, and green tees available for brand new players. For visiting members of the Trinity community, the first tee is located just through the gate behind the Wright House. Special thanks to the River City Disc Golf Club for all of their contributions to the development of this course.

History

The idea came for this course when the current disc golf sponsor took employment at the school and noticed the amole property owned by the school would be perfect for a course that fits with the outdoors centered nature of TES. After development of a club with temporary baskets, this course was designed by Graham Jennings of the River City Disc Golf Club, and Louis Ferro, the disc golf sponsor of Trinity Episcopal School. Both spent a great deal of personal time and effort, through lots of trial and error, to put together the best course possible with the limited space and resources available. Over the course of development several holes were planned and scrapped, and some were completely reworked. Since the planning, the River City Disc Golf Club was instrumental in securing permanent baskets, and further development work has been done by Louis Ferro when the opportunity arises, and TES students looking to complete Eagle Projects. Additionally, improvements have been made thanks to a youth development grant from PDGA, allowing for signage and other various materials. The course now serves the TES disc golf program for both a club and a team throughout the year.

Putting a fairway through a 6’ wide tree tunnel 140’ out from the tee and then adding a dogleg left doesn’t make a “technical” shot. It makes an unplayable hole for 999/1000 disc golfers. It’s a beautiful property! But to be a good disc golf course, it needs playable fairways for the average player. Unless you’re trying to attract a Pro Tour event, I guess. In which case you need real tee boxes and nice signage. Which this course doesn’t have. But it’s a beautiful property!

Very fun short course. Lots of tight lines make it challenge. Sloped greens and off balance shots. Once you find your way around its really enjoyable. Tee pads are a little tough very short and cramped. Would love to see this become 18!
