Man. This course is hard to rate. The back 9 has some of the prettiest holes I’ve played. Overall: -the layout isn’t good -signage from hole to hole needs work -new tee pads would help Some real effort in redesigning could make for a beautiful place.
@trugo314
Overall this was fun, the course will guide you through some very scenic areas of the park and has some crafty lines. Good scores are possible here with good distance and accuracy, otherwise bogey golf feels good. No tee pads on the back 9 unfortunately, there really should be as the current areas have tricky footing and extra caution is needed to avoid rolling an ankle. The walk back from 18 is also brutal.
@amg146
Gorgeous back 9 and the open fairway holes were fair pars, hard birdies for intermediate players which I loved. The course was in great shape too! I just wish there was some signage to show how to get back to the parking lot by 1 and some number plates on the baskets would be nice but overall shes a gem
@shaeddyn
Not beginner friendly, but overall I had fun. If you don't have a 300+ drive and great control birdies will be difficult. Good mix of park and wooded holes.
@fishmerf
This has the potential to be such a great course, but as others have said, it needs some love. The wooded holes are gorgeous, but 15-18 are too far from the start.
@beastweilder
Beautiful Scenery. Excellent Course Design. Fun to play. I play at Tomlinson run every day and let me just say, it never gets old. Every throw I’ve had with the beast on this course has brought joy to my soul. I didn’t appreciate when the pilgrims took capture of holes 12 and 13 for a week, but thankfully the Beast and I defeated them, reclaiming these holes of our beloved disc golf course. Praise God baby.
@shy412
Beautiful course, but could use some tee boxes and some directions. Rather challenging but some of the front 9 par 3s should probably be 4s.
@capandcheese
Really nice course. First 7 holes circle around the park and the rest are in the woods. I would recommend using UDisc especially after hole 11 can get a little confusing especially after 14. Course also does not circle back to the beginning so the walk is long. But the scenic views really make up for it.
@markfed7
So much wasted potential. -Confusing design. Some pro level and some beginner level holes. Can't tell who this course was designed for -some long walks -several unsafe crossing fairways/pins -many dangerous tee area with rocks and roots -1 & 18 are far apart. This park has some beautiful and quiet land, but the layout does not use it well. This could be an excellent addition to WV disc golf if an experienced designer and volunteer crew could rework the layout.
@derekthedisc
Course needs a major update. The front three holes need lar adjustments. You're telling me a 400 foot fairway is a Par 3 while a 260 is a Par 4? The last three holes are all messed up. Needs another bridge closer to the tee. Also, 18 does not end close to the parking lot. Major flaw in many courses!
@stevelocke
Like almost any course that is in a public park, this one is an afterthought to the park management. They plopped in some baskets and tee posts and called it done. Which is a shame because it has some otherwise lovely shots. Typical fairways on walking paths which is dangerous due to lack of signage and general public disc golf knowledge. I believe that if more parks invested more in their dg courses than just the cost of the baskets ( time, knowledge of the game, maintenance, etc.) then these parks would be able to attract more players and therefore more visitors to their parks.
@og19011
The course has a Jekyll & Hyde personality. The front 9 holes are pretty much generic and forgettable. They lean too much on length over creativity using mostly a park style course playing around a parking lot. The course gets much better on the back 9. The park turns into this beautiful old resort, full of interesting stuff and the holes become more fun too. It ultimately loses its' way. Those last 4 holes feel like an afterthought and I've never found the 15th Tee. The tees that are here start with turf and end up mostly dirt covered in leaves. Baskets are older style and only one set of tees to play.
@pensifpoet
Great course with a variety of shots. Front nine caters to your long shot while the back nine requires a bit more skill to maneuver through trees and across water. Don't overshoot 13!
@pgroot
Great experience on our travels, definitely worth the trip.
@darrend
The course was better than what was expected. Have always played somewhere different based on perception, based on comments of others. That was a mistake. If your a first timer the front nine is long. For an average arm, par shpuld be the goal. The back nine is in the woods and where you can score. Scenery is second to none. U/Disc app is a must on this course. Signage on all holes. A lot of distances are wrong. Earthen and turf tees over the course. Not a showstopper. I will definitely play there again. Give it a shot...
@urbanwarrior19
Good mixture of woods and open shots; however, most of the shots are similar.
