History
2000’ - A small community installed the first layout at The Rez and created the disc golf club we know as the Jackson Union of Disc Golf Enthusiasts (JUDGES)
2014’ - Pearl River Valley attempts to install a Beach on the shoreline of Old 18 (near the existing hole 15). The Beach was never finished.
2015’ - With Hole 18 out of commission the 1st redesign was called for, and “Birdie Bay” was born as well as a new finishing hole.
2022’ - late in the year Pearl River Valley started a dredging project to clear silt out of coves along the banks of the Ross Barnett Reservoir. “The Rez” was chosen as the dump sight for the silt leaving a 5 acre pool of mud in the middle of Hole 18 & 14. Due to the project the community created the 2nd Redesign - adding the “A Hole” between Hole 6 & 7 and Hole 17 was now the finishing hole.
2023’ - Mississippi had a Drought, the Drought led to a Pine Beetle Infestation which then led to the death of 12.5 Million Pine Trees in the state.
2024’ - PRV finishes the dredging project, but it’s too late. Due to the 2023’ issues, Pearl River Valley was forced to remove nearly all of the pine trees. Hole 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, & 18 were turned into blank fields.
2025’ - with the course left stranded, the 3rd redesign was unfortunately called for. Several stump removals later JUDGES, with the help of Pearl River Valley, created the now existing layout.
