@peteuli
Welcome to “The Loam Giant”! I’m very excited to share my new course design at Sunrise ski resort. This is a mountain course through and through. It plays at an elevation over 10,000 feet. Its fairways are along the ski slopes, through the dense Fir and Aspen forests, up down and across the mountain. This is not a manicured landscape, it’s rugged, wild, and breathtakingly beautiful. As the summer season rolls in, the grass and wildflowers will fill the mountains slopes, so watch your drives carefully and walk straight toward where they land. A lot of thought has gone in to creating shot selections that will help manage the distances of the landscape and help avoid throws disappearing completely from the throwers line of sight. Buy an all day lift pass, play the course, got to the top of Sunrise peak, grab a burger and drink, then go back and play another round. Cheers friend, and I hope you enjoy The Loam Giant!

This is a great course! Read Peteuli’s review before playing. Going into the round understanding that it is a rugged course, with lower upkeep, keeps expectations on par. Watch your shots closely and pick a reference point, especially on the last three holes. The variety of shots is across the board. Short, long, uphill, downhill, open and wooded. The tee pads are rubber mats and many need to be smoothed out. Pink ribbons and flags mark the path to the next hole pretty well. The only hole we had a challenge with was hole 12. The basket is up and to the left, on the left side of the line of Aspens. It is a great hole just took some time to find. This is a course on my list to play again.

Super fun course with a good shot variety. Follow pink flags to next tee. Excited for the course to grow. Tee pads are currently rubber mats which are sufficient and have enough run up space but surface is uneven. Pack water and enjoy!
@ryzonii
This is a fun one if you’re in the area. Nothing beats riding a chairlift to hole #1.

Pete has done an excellent job with the redesign. With a little more love this will be a 5star.
@dirtclod
Wow! What an amazing experience this course is! The redesign by Pete Uli is awesome. The scenery is unforgettable 😍. It is a hike in places, so catch your breath before putting! Peaceful, with bubbling creeks and chattering squirrels. Don't miss this one!
@beneathan
Awesome variety, lots of difficult routes and some extreme downhill par 4s. Tee pads were a little rough.
@azhuntman
This course was super fun! I ended up using every shot shape I knew how to throw. Shots ranged from Uphill, downhill, tunnels, left and right. Fairways are mostly defined. Grass was high, but not too bad. To navigate we used UDisc, signs on the basket, and pink ribbons marking the way. Teepads are decent for a mountain course, a little rough around the edges but super fun in the cool weather!!!
@rezfalcon
Course is looking great and you can see all the improvements being made, you can tell what it can look like eventually. Best ski resort course in AZ
@reecej
Incredible course, lots of fun shots. UDisc locations are off, but if you use the scenery instead of exact location, the teas are relatively easy to find.
@bigpapa63
It could be a great course. Even using U disc finding each Tbox was difficult. No upkeep or markings. Great view and cardio.
@bryanpadd
Holes 1-11 were fairly easy to find. They have been mapped as of 9/18/19. After hole 11 good luck finding anything. No one at the resort could tell us where hole 12 was. The views are amazing and the course has great potential.
