If mowed, and you don’t mind the wind, it’s good for field work. It’s not a serious course. Pickleball courts for tee pads is pretty sweet. Makes me miss old Swope.
@tobydingman
Hole 5’s basket is missing. No tee signs. Trash all over the course. Very little variety in hole design.
@jgerbs69
Great if you want to walk. Quit after 10 holes due to the unnecessary walking. Just a poorly designed course. So much space and they used it to make you walk more than the length of the hole you just played prior.
@darby222
This course is way too open and lacks a variety of shots. Though there are a few good holes, they can not save the course alone. Course would likely be in better shape if given more money and a NEW designer. New Swope needs woods and tough pin placements and it needs shots that highlight the views of the property. It has none of these things. I played a tournament here with temporary placements that were way better, but it's my understanding that the owners of the land are uninterested in making these permanent additions ever. This is even with the temporary placements we played in tournament, which didn't disrupt the park or shelter in any way, being very possible with the correct investment. Cutting them out kills the course, which has little woods, making it nothing but a practice level course. I hope the owners eventually notice how popular Old Swope was and how great New Swope could be, with possible wooded holes across the property. Again, it's a beautiful property but the course highlights none of the good views.
@sunsoutgunsout
Good for practice and field work IF it is mowed. Very open and no signs at all
@gavynbrand14
Very good if you just take it as field work
@scuzzi
Good for field work (if mowed) and that’s about it. If you actually want to play disc golf, do yourself a favor and visit any other course in the KC metro.
@aflomoney
If the course is mowed it’s fun to rip it on the open wholes. Mostly open throughout the whole course. Currently mostly mowed. Fun course.
@dustinheese
I played Swope mostly as a kid and I hated disc golf because I kept hitting trees with my dx discs. There aren't very many trees to hit at this version. The pads are nice but they seem randomly placed, along with the baskets. The course is better off as a host for the cultural food festival.
@scurrz
Missing pins 6, 14, 15, 16.
@surge5
No progress being made.
@ctcolburn
Good open course. Not very many problems. Could be labeled better between holes.
@aklaasmeyer
Wide open but still fun. Think they did the best they could with the piece of land they gave is.
@evansuellentrop
Needs arrows to point to the next tee. Course design is not extremely obvious. Tall grass needs to be maintained. 90% wide open with a mix of trees peppered throughout the course and near the baskets.
@derkafern
Hella grass. Makes rollers and skips very difficult.
