@itsnickboland
Appears to have just been mowed, just needs tee pads and signs and it’s a top STL course
@willmack
Great potential and has enough water hazard that it’s not for the faint of heart. Needs tee signs to give any indication of where to go next.
@lucasrogers
Bomber course. Plenty of places to lose discs.
@benjaminrobie
I played the blues and shot plus one as a 925 rated player. There are a lot of holes that are long for their par. The turf tea pads were great but having you disk is mandatory to find the next tee pad
@kfree35
Brand new turf tees, OB stakes, and arrows on the baskets! Still in need of signage but it’s great to see work being done out here. The mowing has also been sorted out so the hitting the fairways is doable, especially from the shorts. The rough is still nasty however and there’s a fair amount of water danger. It’s a fun play from the shorts right now and an absolute bomber course from the longs although there are a handful of tweeners. Hardly any gaps to hit, this course is all about distance and placement. Can’t wait for more improvements!
@alexhallumsdisc
Key word with this course - potential. Layout is on an old ball golf course. Lots of water features, still has defined fairways to follow, big distance is a huge plus out here. Bring an extra disc or 2 for risky water shots. City NEEDS to maintain the course a little better. If permanent tee pads got installed, cart paths were cleaned up, & the course was maintained a little better, it could be a 5 star course. Worth a visit if you’re looking for a challenge or something new.
@bortmanhattan
All tall grass is nicely cut right now. Very fun course from the reds
@ronking
Completely worthless for anything other than tournament play. Spotting necessary for almost every tee shot, even the red tees.
@benpalmer
No tee pads, no signs. The course upkeep was good, the fairways were awesome. The rough was super rough! I lost a couple discs that went in there. Maybe it’s a skill issue, but I found myself having too many blind shots and needing them throw over a lot of OB. I don’t like not being able to see where I need to land my disc and I had a lot of that today. Not my favorite.
@bengalkid
There are no signs or tees anywhere. And hope you want to be eaten alive by mosquitoes
@schrieber5
Needs pads and signage but it plays amazing. Bring a stable and Flippy driver you don't mind losing
@noahfree
Sunset Lakes is a very well-designed and fun course, probably better for more skilled players. I would recommend this course for anyone who throws over 400 feet consistently and enjoys risk vs reward shots that occur because of the tightly lined OB. If concrete teepads are installed and signage is greatly improved, Sunset Lakes would rival or even overtake the best courses in the St. Louis area. The course would also be better if a couple holes trimmed the OB lines wider, the green hole 10 for example.
@jimklages
Will be nicer when signage gets installed but Udisc is accurate for finding holes
@coacht
Woof. Can you throw 400 feet 18-25 times? I cannot.
@anthonypasek
So much potential here. When some TLC occurs it will be a great addition to the high quality courses in the STL area. Nice that it has been recently trimmed down. Update March 2025: Turf pads and new mowing pattern have elevated my rating. Badly needed upgrades!
@theconnormilos
Missing some tee signs, but tall grass is cut short right now.
@dvaporean02
I could see this being one of my favorite courses in the St. Louis area if they maintain it well, however it is in a flood zone so it may be unavailable to play a lot of times.
