Golf cart was no longer optional but required so cost to play was $16 instead of $5. Using a cart made it more awkward to get from hole to hole imo. Plus the smart layout is different from where the PDGA signs are so that was confusing finding the right teepad at times. Grass was actively being cut, but it was pretty tall and rough when I was there. The majority of back 9 is away from the ball golf course and it seemed like there was minimal maintenance for that. Was suddenly glad to have a cart because the grass in the fairway was over 2 feet tall. Assuming all the grass is cut, it is a solid course but I'm not interested in being required to use a golf cart for $11.

I played 437 rounds on 55 courses in 12 states over the past year. Sunset Hills ranked #7 for me. I generally like woods courses and don’t enjoy park golf. But Sunset Hills does a phenomenal job of incorporating OB to make park golf more challenging and fun. It also mixes in several high quality woods-ish holes. I played it during Ledgestone and snuck in a few practice rounds that week…so it was in top condition. Didn’t have to have a cart or deal with any of the other complaints other folks have voiced in reviews.

Terrible experience with the course manager. Will never play again. They yelled at me, cussed at me and belittled me over some thing that someone else did, but were convinced that my group did it.
@phsjuice86
Absolutely beautiful. Played a mid day round in 90+ degrees. Only one out there. Little confusing from time to time but I was in no hurry. Carts are fun!!!
@crimsontider44
One ball golf course with lots of OB and some water - lots of geese crap on holes 4-6 - long but I enjoyed it - also hole 15 is wrong on this layout - it is a long par 4 with a 90 degree turn left
@psicoffee
It's $16 to play for the day; they haven't updated the website or udisc. The pro shop owner was rude when I asked about the $5 just to play, but I used the cart since I had to pay for it. I don't mind paying for a round, but I was misled, and I doubt any of my money supported the disc golf section of the course. The first 11 holes you constantly have to wait a long time to play around ball golfers and mowers, which felt awkward as I traversed around them trying to find each hole. The map is wrong and they moved some baskets out of tournament position to accommodate the ball golfers. When you get to holes 12-18 it gets fun but there is obviously not as much upkeep as the ball golf area, and someone damaged hole 13. There are some beautiful scenic shots, but I felt like a second-class citizen here. It's probably ok during a disc golf tournament, but there are better courses in the area that don't: add an hour's worth of waiting between holes, are closer in the Peoria area, are free-to-play, and don't have the possibility of losing a disc or two in the water.
@drew34wendling
Course have been very poorly maintained. Shouldn’t be expected to pay $21 to ride a cart on a walkable course for course mismanagement.
@geigerhyzer
Tournament layout doesn’t always match tee signs and the main layout doesn’t have a map so pick your poison
@mrotter
Would be 4.5 stars if it wasn’t $21 and you didn’t have to take a cart
@jahonlee
A visit to remember.
@bozekt
Sharing the course with ball golfers just means a little traffic to wait out sometimes, but not too intrusive. Fun course!
@emaddy
Cool golf course style course - get a cart!
@rojerlockless
Very nice disc golf course. Very long but you can rent a golf cart!
@johnputnam
The upkeep is pretty bad here for the disc golf course and for the golf course. The only good part about the course was the carts also the guy in the pro shop was a jerk. Then worst of all there is little to no signage for half of the holes, and they take forever to find. Udisc layouts are not up to date so many of the hole locations are completely wrong. Its nice to huck but not here. Save your money and go to Northwood.
@alanjanzen
Beautiful golf course, well-manicured, and a ton of fun to play. Bet it’s even better with a golf cart. A must play.
