Honestly, I don’t see how this course is ranked #4 in Utah. The layout is mostly elevated tee shots to downhill baskets, with very little variety. The straight shots often go over service roads, which just feels awkward. On the elevated shots, it’s incredibly easy to lose your disc if you lose sight of it for even a second. Holes 3, 4, and 5 were closed due to construction when I visited, which hurt the flow even more. If you’re looking for a mountain course, skip this one and go play Brighton instead—better variety, better design, and a much more enjoyable experience overall.

Avoid this course. Used to be good not so much now. Solitude doesn’t care about upkeep or notifying you that several holes are out of play due to construction, until after you buy a lift ticket and you’re about to get on the lift. One basket was just lying on the ground in the bushes.

lots of incredible shots and views, but the grass is very long and the paths are very treacherous. due to construction, hiking up is not available (as of 7/1/25), so you must take the lift for $22. holes 8 and 9 are temporary but udisc is up to date

Great course! A lot of folks have decided that since Brighton was put in (which is an excellent course) this course is now complete trash.. this is just not true. This course so fun, mostly putters and mids, with a few bigger drives. Big down hills that are so satisfying to park when you get your trusty putter on the perfect glidey angle. Sure this course could use an update, refresh some of the holes etc, but supposedly that’s coming soon and I can’t wait!

Beautiful course but not a serious competition course. Do not play alone!

Mostly 350-500' downslope throws. Spotter is VERY helpful. Can hike in from silver lake in Brighton. About 1 mile that way.

Hiked from the base of the Sunrise lift ~30min to hole 1. Steep and had us out of breath, but worth saving the $22 lift ticket (2024). Brought our own discs but could have rented at Solitude (clock tower was closest) for $26 or so. They also sold a variety of Solitude branded individual discs for $28 each or generic 3-disc sets at the store for $25-$30. All the stores, lifts, rentals open from 10am-6pm or so. Disc return and Lost & Found at the same place as rentals. Beautiful course, well worth the hike! Always use a spotter, since we spent a fair bit of time searching for drives even in the fields due to tall grass and thick trees. Not bad since we found more discs than we lost! Stunning mountain views. Fun downhill shots. Good variety of shots, water features, fields, trees, and epic bombs.

Very challenging to dial in the exact throw with the massive elevation changes. Well worth the trip though and a ton of fun. Wish hole 18 was in the long position

Knowing what time the lifts open would have been very helpful.

Beautiful course. Hot in the sun but nice in the shade and breeze. Not too crowded for a Saturday.

Gorgeous course. Fairways make it tough to find discs sometimes but rewarding if you can conquer the terrain.

Amazing experience, updated map on UDisc and signs on pad would make it perfect!

Put the baskets where UDisc says they’re located or update UDisc. Really not that hard and since your signs are cartoonish, they do little good

For those who want to escape the confines of boring and unchallenging ol' city park courses and explore the demanding yet rewarding style of play that is mountain disc golf. Solitude is for you.

It's a really cool course but forget whatever your discs do normally, its a bit too far down and then uphill in it's shot selection. Don't bring any discs you like you will lose them

Awesome course, but many of the top 9 holes (A-I) should be par 4 in my opinion. Brutal holes straight up the mountain, but fun!
