It's better to play two 9 hole rounds of Slayter Hill. Pickett Park is not very fun for beginners due to the long opening holes and abundance of hazards
@mitchdominguez
If you want to get in 18 holes on campus, do yourself a favor and just play Slayter twice. The layout at Pickett makes no sense, and involves throwing a spike hyzer over a picnic area. Additionally, the teepads at Pickett would be better if they were just grass instead of the ditches that are currently there.
@crunchydg
Weird layouts, other things like the soccer field and busy street come into play really easily. I love these baskets personally, signage seems right-ish. Teepads are wonky and the back nine is meh
@drfrisb
Combined these two courses offer a semi fun, variety of shots and lines. It's awesome that these courses are still open and available for play. They need focus and redesign to truly be great.
@timber5
Haven’t played here since 2015 and it’s just as fun as I remembered. A lot of technical shots and good variety of par 4s and longer holes. Could use some bridges in certain areas. The hole locations are quite strange at Pickett. Seems like the hole configuration could be better oriented so the walk from one hole to another is not so extreme. Overall fun course and very well maintained!
@djnull
Uneven dirt tee-pads, awkward layout, many bystanders.
@brssmnky313
Smatter is a fun little technical course but Pickett is a little confusing and poorly laid out.
@offbrandstew22
Bit of a long walk from slater to picket park if you don’t have a car. Pretty easy if it’s a calm day; pretty difficult if it’s windy due to the steep hills at slater and the longer holes at picket park
@mlau154
Some really great holes and a good number of par 4's. Dirt/mud/no tee pads at Pickett, and some rough brick pads at Slayter. Signage is great but layout is poor. Lots of long walks between holes, although given the park space, this might have been hard to avoid.
@ominouspotato
Holes one through nine are challenging and fun. Picket park (holes 10 through 18) have you shooting into active picnic areas and losing your disks into a deep Creek with high grass. Would not recommend pick up picket park Half of the course(halls 10 through 18)
@tokala
First half at slayter park is great up and down hill play. Play at Pickett and overlapping making play difficult as well as tall grass and a creek making it easy to lose discs. 5/5 on slayter 9 hole and 2/5 on Pickett Also requires separate parking for second half.
@jaclamme23
For what it's worth, it's a good course overall.
@samsurufka
Got a ticket for parking at slayter
