@yeeeyee
Lots of potential for 9 hole layout. But currently overgrown and pretty miserable. Still great place to practice approach/putting with med center backdrop
@evanflying4
Fun tricky course, great spot, be prepared to walk through the weeds
@understories
We had a great time playing in dry conditions in early march. Really great use of space, and interesting shot variety.
@timrbass
Even with the rough terrain, old baskets, lack of teepees or signage, I believe this 9-hole long/short layout is solid for what it is and certainly better than nothing. Being able to throw full distance shots at a historical course in downtown Houston is just so special. Worth a play for sure!
@xxcross
Despite all the terrible reviews I wanted to check out this course anyway because I was visiting the Houston area for a conference and wanted to do my due diligence and check out all the nearby courses even though they had terrible reviews. With that said, after taking the light rail red line from downtown and walking in the rain through campus, I can attest and assure you that all of the negative reviews are true. Please save your time and energy and go elsewhere for your disc golf needs! For what it's worth, below is a list of my observations: - everything on the presumable course is overgrown - there is no signage indicating the area is supposedly a course - can hardly find any tees not to mention catch baskets since they've probably been swallowed up by mother nature - though overgrown, the flowers look nice 🪻 lol It's too bad the course area is going to be repurposed, hopefully the student disc golf group will be able to get a course going near the university's rec as mentioned in their review. Good luck!
@maxk14
Completely unplayable
@chuckhtx
The course is in a prime location and looks like it could be one of the best in Houston if somebody at Rice took some initiative to clean it up. For now, it's abandoned, overgrown and unplayable.
@cmbro254
Terrible park. If y’all don’t want a disc golf park get rid of it and give the baskets away. Unplayable. May be good if cleaned up and labeled. Overall rating -2.5
@patoink
Don't play here unless you want to lose discs. Poorly kept course.
@jvonck
Few tee markers. Unkempt grass. Poor baskets.
@awh142857
High grass. Not well maintained.
@lilzeuf
Not kept up at all. Only 4 playable holes, the rest are overrun by trees
@lumpgang
Basically unplayable
@draypaul
This course should not be listed on udisc. It doesn't even deserve a single star. I'm normally very generous with my disc golf course ratings too... The course is so overgrown the baskets are impossible to find. Good luck throwing any disc without searching for at least 20 minutes even when it's parked within 10 ft of the pin. Kind of disgusted that somebody had the audacity to list this course.
@atgfencer
It used to be a really nice little 9 hole. They let it get overgrown. There was never even legal parking for discers. And you know how University police can be. Some students starting an active club might be a good way to get it some attention.
@schwedler15
Not a single playable hole even for beginners
@chedderman
DO NOT PLAY. Unplayable contact rice university for info
@danielhirsch08
Look. It’s a red course. It’s not made for advanced disc golfers, and the conditions aren’t great. But it is fine if you aren’t serious with it or just are in a rush. Very convenient to the city.
@jamesmcillece
Not playable
@kels19peterson
Just don't go. Save yourself.
