About the course

Township park course that is designed for beginners and intermediate players. It is still under construction so be mindful, it’s not ready yet for first time players, they will struggle if not in the fairway on some holes. On those for most players it’s best to just disc down and play safe shots for the par. Front 9 is a little more open and easy with the grass fields and some woods while the back 9 is more wooded with a couple of fun par 4’s. Course designer Larry LaBond has designed and helped build many of the best courses in the Kalamazoo area. Here he packed 18 fun holes into the parks 20+ acres to create a fun flowing score-able layout designed to be challenging but not punishing to newer players once fully established and seasoned in. The township had unforeseen major bills come up at the end of this year so funding has run out for but the plan is to pour cement tee pads in the spring and install professional signage once next years budget kicks in. I am working on temporary sign options in the meantime to help bridge the gap as well as some benches. Volunteer work is highly needed as this park is only a few work days away from being very playable without major issues. Email me or contact St. Joseph Valley Disc Golf Club on Facebook to help setup a workday. High socks and washing your hands and discs after the round is highly recommended to avoid the spread of poison ivy oils. It is also tick season so please check yourselves. Early recondition is critical. This is a heavily mixed use park so please be kind and cautious of other park goers and always make sure that your path is clear to throw. Be safe and have fun!

Solid new course. Will be great as it breaks in and gets more foot traffic. Not sure if tee pads are in the plans, but that would elevate the course a lot. Still has a lot of toe busters in the fairways.

Front 9 seems more finished so far. However some fairways and tee areas to baskets seem close. Back 9 has alot more work to go, and the fact that you throw down and over a walking path several different times worries me.. Holes a a hole seem ro hols up well with a mixture of open and mort tight wooded holes No tee pads or signs yet.. this looks to be a nice course when finished.
