Incredible use of space and trees to make one of the best “park” courses out there. You’re never throwing at pedestrians. You can’t just throw over the top, many holes have a fair gap you need to hit. Long tees are a challenge for experienced players, short tees were great for beginners.
@bikeandboots
Some really tight lines, but a good mix overall. If you get good here, you'll play well anywhere.
@renotahoedg
This course just makes me happy, despite my scores. A mix of tight tree lines, a couple wide open bombers, great signage and upkeep.
@chickenonabun
Kind of a pitch and putt for most holes but good variety, a couple good par 4s and longer par 3s keep it from being too simple and easy. The many short par 3s are fair and a good level of tightness for the length.
@rossmcg
Too many tee shots with tight initial gaps. Felt repetitive and arbitrary. Lots of unmarked water.
@stealthcorp
First time here playing while visiting Reno after being recommended by Reno locals. A bit out of the way but a really nicely laid out course with intermediate distances. If you get the chance, go play it!
@scottd084
Signage best I’ve seen. Shady benches at most tees. Several porta-potties, no water. Mostly flat, winds through open woods. Very low chance of losing a disc. Would be a good intro course, but Portola is pretty remote.
@bizarrobigbass
Its fine. Not much variety. Only thing scenic about it is the river which you barely see and hole 15, besides that its pretty boring. I wouldnt play it more than once.
@kylehampton
This a 4.5 rated course? Played longs and it was basically plinko. Not my preference.
@stricker88
Well thought out course. Whoever built this has a good eye for design.
@tntmorris
Playing this course on a regular basis helps me improve my game. A lot of verity in shot placement to practice and improve. Love this course . Plus now they have just put in permanent bathrooms on the course. 😃
@samuelhoch
Really fun and well-designed course. I will definitely play whenever I’m in the area.
@sailmaster
Wow, so difficult. Not used to playing with this elevation so my turnover discs were not working. Clearly I need to work on shot shaping and scramble... beautiful course.
@swiftacle
Fun course. Nice mix of shots, nothing very far. I'd say all but one hole could be birdied with a midrange or putter
@brooksjameson
The course area is beautiful.
@aaljenkins
Nice course, great signage, concrete tee pads. Club members working on improving. Painting bridges Great time!
@nvsevcsik
Very fun shorter course with variety of shots. Lots of trees, not much elevation change.
@danceswithtrees
Awesome course designed by a legend in the industry. Excellent location by the Feather River. Nice combo of tight trees, and open fairways. A welcome North State addition for Cali and Nv.
