Obviously well cared for course and baskets are serviceable but lightweight and some are crooked Back nine requires a forehand and lots of luck with tight lines and 90 deg RH- lots of low ceilings so precise shot control required. Clean course and errant shots easily found. Worth playing but not tournament caliber layout or equipment
@ezislandlife
Great 18 hole course set up decently. Great tee pads and fairways. Baskets a bit dated. Needs a port a potty and a couple trash cans.
@alanr41
The course layout is like a maze in some parts. The signage needs a lot of work. The tees are either blue, red, or yellow and there are painted arrows on the trees, so it can get confusing between criss crossing over the fairways. But all in all, IT WAS FUN!
@kobster
Not a fan... some of the holes felt like poor design IMO. Navigation/signage was confusing on some holes. I usually like challenging, wooded courses, but this ain't it for me.
@alexscwich34
Tiny tee boxes , brutal signage , baskets are extremely wobbly and loose.
@chuckd45
Great use of the space they have. There are criss cross fairways at times but the the colored benches, arrows and baskets for each hole help the navigation go pretty easy. Played one round to get my bearings (less than hour solo), kept score the second round (still less than hour). Have driven 20-30 from here to play Earlewood and Owens (both great and a lot of fun!) but I feel it is totally worth it to play here if you are in Lexington area for a day or half day.

I am not part of course volunteers, so my feedback is non-biased. I have played all Columbia, SC area courses, and over 60 courses all together (over a year at Pisgah) this course still ranks high for me. I have played it over 30 times. Yes holes 5 & 6 have been updated about a year or so ago. Hole 5 is now a very short raised basket par 3 (should be par 2), and new hole 6 is one of the few “let it fly” holes on this woodsy course. Walk back up to find tee 7 (from basket 6). UDisc might need an update.? Yes, finding tees 12 and 17 is a bit tricky the first time of play. And, yes the holes are near each other, but are very wisely designed that neighboring play really does not factor. In fact, the course feels bigger that it is- it takes intentional study to realize the exactness to which/what hole is near. I truly confess that while these holes are surprising close, it does not effect play. Basket 18 ends course; just look for a second, walking out of woods and back to parking lot is pretty obvious. I love the woods on these narrow fairways because finding a disc in the ruff usually is easily spotted in the very clean woods. Upkeep recently has fixed some wobbly baskets and cleaned up fairway edges. All tees have benches, and posts with hooks. Most tee areas have brooms. Tee areas are colored the same color as basket - colors are not “levels” (blue, white, red, etc.). Pay attention to hole color, and then the few times with neighboring baskets, knowing which basket to aim is obvious. Yes, they are numbered too. I have never seen this course dirty while trash cans are not on course (nor restrooms). But, it has a very clean feel, as compared to many courses I have played that have trashcans and restrooms. I have never seen this course dirty. Most definitely not a “1 or 1.5” course. No disrespect to other raters, but I have seen those type of courses, and this is a solid 3.5+ (I rate 4.5). Do not fear trying it out. Hole 1 is easily found, and allows good space for practice/warm-up throws. Holes 2-4 and 7-18 are in woods. Hole 16 still gets the better of me (a beginner)- chasing my first par there. Holes 2, 3, 8, 9, 13, 15, 17 and 18 have narrow drives or mandos (some more demanding than others); logical mandos - 17 might frustrate the typical 300’ “driver”. My favorite holes are 4, 7, 12, 14, 15, 17 - but, I typically can’t throw 300’ drives. Most love hole 6, and most will find 3, 9 and 16 challenging - basket 9 tucked nicely around tree with long overhanging branch (great design). Give it try!
@omgimcalen
the layout is super confusing and the tee signs are different than Udisc. many of the par 4s are super short because the fairway goes 100 feet and takes a 90 degree turn.
@hburg15
I can see how the crossing fairways would pose a problem if it was crowded. Luckily, I was the only one out here and it was not an issue. Lot of different shot shapes that you may not see it a typical course which made it challenging but fun.
@rwatts
Tee pads are very short. Basket locations are confusing; some baskets for different holes are very close together.
@pockethand
Course is in great shape. Signage and navigating after a hole 12 was a little hard, overall had a great time. Enjoyed the color coordination and extra markings down the fairway. Good use of the available space.
@danielowens
Surprisingly long course with some very technical holes. I love it. I recently heard someone describe this course this way: “It’s like a 10 year old drew the course with a crayon!” I agree; and yet it makes for some unique and challenging lines. It’s great if you want to test your shot shaping and accuracy while having to throw pretty hard.
@brad0911
Tough wooded course as always. Today the fairways have been cleaned and you can see them very well.
@rlsmith34
Layout is a bit rough. Signs(Watch out for disc) are everywhere and for good reason. Very technical ( expect to hit a tree almost every hole.
@pappastew
Left a note about wasp nests. Came back out a week later with spray and someone had already taken care of it. 👍💪🏼🫡
@craigwilliams
Criss-cross fairways, so keep your head on a swivel.
@findthemtrees
It’s a solid course, definitely better than a lot of the reviews portray. You need to know what you’re getting into: it’s on a smaller property, and that makes some of the course design cramped. Recently they’ve done a better job by painting baskets to make the layout clearer. A few of the holes are unnecessarily hard with trees or limbs that could come out, but it is fun woods golf as long as you know what to expect.
@chamyers
Good course. I recommend you ignore the reviews that say it’s “dangerous” due to crossing fairways. That’s a ridiculous exaggeration. Just keep your heads up through a couple walking paths, that’s all. But as for technicality, there is no way to over exaggerate how difficult the lines are on this course. Super tight wooded cuts and mandos!
