Ever thought about playing disc golf in a corn maze? This is about as close as you’re going to get, except replace the corn with thorns, briars, and grass taller than your head. Let’s begin with finding the course; the GPS coordinates drop you off in the middle of a road adjacent to the property, but nowhere near the park itself. Once in the park proper, you need to walk a meandering path, past the school and into the wetlands area to find the first hole. Each hole offers signage with the number and distance to the pin, but no graphical representation. A 2 foot diameter, circular concrete pad marks the area you can throw from, though it’s not even big enough for a standstill stance. Holes one through eight are a repeat of the following; 40 foot wide mowed path with 7 foot tall rough surrounding all sides. Add in the Lake Erie winds and you’re all set for hours of fun searching through the rough for an errant throw. Hole 9 offers the only diversity with a 300 foot tunnel shot through a nice pine forest. I appreciate that this course exists, however, a Metropark should have the time, resources, and desire to provide something better than this for the community.

This might be one of the oddest courses I've played in Ohio. You have to park in a lot next to a senior citizens home and then walk through their lot and a trail to get to hole 1. Teepads are small concrete circles just big enough to do a standstill. Fairways are mowed and give ok room for error, but if you are off the fairway you are at chest high THICK weeds. The bugs are also insane! Make sure to spray. I had high hopes! I can't recommend this course to anyone unfortunately.
@ctinker
Tight fairways, thick brush leads to lost discs just off of fairway
@tblair10
It’s not a bad course, it’s a fun little 9-hole but you can lose your disc 1 ft off the fairway cause the rough is so thick and thorny
@jeremykasper
Be prepared to lose your whole bag. Anything out of the fairway is gone forever.
@scrillia
Hole 9 is sweet
@jwilkes
If you miss the fairway, the chances of losing a disc are very high. Ticks are plentiful. Do not recommend this course.
@wesleyskiles
Fairways are nicely cut grass. The rough will instantly shallow any disc near it. Plan to lose a disc or three, even with short holes and only 9 holes. Some of the baskets had a lean to them.
@agrant2014
Watched a snake pop out of a hole about 8 feet behind me while throwing from maybe 5 feet into the rough
@jadonmain
Not very great. mostly wide open shots with some of the gnarliest rough I’ve ever seen, and the teepads are tiny circular stepping stones. It’s a nice place to walk around but this course is definitely not worth the multitude of lost discs. If you’re in the Sandusky area make the extra drive out to Great Blue Heron
@yodaman5202
Hole 9 is closed due to down trees from a previous storm
@rvkphoto
Very tall weeds and prickers along the side of the course….if your not in the fairway might as well say good bye to your disk
@hyde244
Absolutely love the course layout, but the rough is RUFF in the summer. Winter play is more forgiving, but still tall grass. In earnest, if there’s any chance to widen the fairways, would greatly benefit the play ability, especially for novices like me.
@photobond
Super rough rough recommend play and fall in Winter bring a spotter. Hole nine is worth the whole course
@zieber
In years past they have cut some of the grass off the fairways. This year not so much. The fairways are tight and the brush off the fairways is up to my chest. With it being windy almost every hole I was searching for my discs.
@scar4ace
Nice little course. A little soggy in a few spots but pretty well kept up. Would be nice if another 9 were added.😜
