@brisndl2
All the prairie grass makes it to hard to play and not lose a ton of discs unless you have great accuracy. Makes it not a fun coarse.
@violindude51
This course came here to do one thing and one thing only: eat all of your discs. This was not my first day playing this sport, but I started the round with 9 in my bag and left with 4. The layouts are cool and upkeep was excellent, but every. single. hole. is gonna force you to stick a shot on a narrow fairway surrounded by a literal hayfield of tall grass with which you do NOT want to mess. Do not throw anything with sentimental value off the tee and prepare to get wrecked if youโre playing OB/penalty and drive with anything less than pro-level accuracy.
@mattesser1991
Bring some discs you donโt mind losing ๐ ๐ but overall super fun for players that can actually throw
@zachd91
I'd rather drive an hour away to play a different course even though this is only 5 minutes away. It seems as if the park district doesn't care about it. There are always trees down that need to be cleaned up. The tall grass makes it impossible for a beginner to intermediate player to play without spending an extra hour to look for a disc. There is no sense in having a course that you cant or wont maintain. 5ft tall grass in unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and head to Forsyth.
@skybag
Right now is the best time to play since the tall grass is down and if you throw a disc in the area it won't be lost. A bit hilly but a solid course.
@msheddan
Overall a really great course. Don't know why so many complaints about tall grass. 1st time here and Was it in once- with a bad throw. If you stay in fairways ( which are fair ) shouldn't be much of an issue. It was winter and snow on tee pads were much more a problem. Can't wait to come back when tees are dry
@firemarshall66
Trees need trimming. Wider and more spacious fairways would make the whole course more enjoyable. Maps on signs are difficult to interpret. A fun and challenging course. More realistic pars would be nice. Some twos, some fours. They are not all threes.
@whopper05
This is not a course for beginners. Definitely take discs that you wonโt mind loosing because the tall grass along the fairways is very thick!
@declangleeson
This course is a disc eater! I've lost many disc playing here. Overall, a fun course to play, but the tall grass is ruthless!
@mythofdob
Lot of variety in the course, good long short mix. Played when the tall grass is down, but can see how it would be a place to lose some discs in the summer. Biggest complaint would be un-realistic pars. Course could use a smart layout with some rec pars on some of those holes, especially 3 and 9.
@leetirey
I wish I loved this course. I desire to play it but Iโm just not at the level where every shot I throw goes exactly where I want it to goโฆand if you miss, even just slightly, itโs not uncommon to spend 10 minutes looking for a disc that maybe isnโt that far off the mowed fairway. At one point I thought it was said they couldnโt mow more of the grass because itโs protected prairie grass but that stuff is just weeds. If I didnโt mow my yard for a yearโฆit would look like that. Lots of potential hereโฆif it was like Forsyth and they actually went out and did some things to better the course for playing, disc golfโฆ.i could be great.
@isuaggie
Great topography for a course. I always allow a little extra disc finding time with the rough, but overall I love the hills, variety of shots and defined fairways. An enjoyable play and good challenge.
@clarkparkrick
First hole, that bend to the left, is a poison ivy forest. Be careful
@methuselah
That grass is brutal. Disc down and stay in the fairways.
@tastydirt
The course design is very nice. Some of the holes require well-shaped shots, while others allow for creativity/freedom to shape the shot. I felt the par on each whole is more Intermediate-level-oriented. Many of the 400+ foot holes felt like they shouldโve been par 4s instead of 3s. Aside from the pars and the prairies, no complaints
@dauminator
Excellent course. Fun elevation changes. Good mix of woods and open. Great condition, night grass OBs.
@gagefranklin00
Not very well kept but still a fun course with a good mix of wooded area and open holes.
@mrotter
The long grass is terrible. If you donโt feel confident hitting all 18 fairways, I would avoid this course if you want to keep all your discs. Playing safe to ensure you donโt lose a disc makes this course play about 10 strokes harder than it should be
