History
Mosquito Creek Disc Golf Course was a community building project headed by Dave Schenk of the adjacent YMCA facility. The Sebring City Park dept and the YMCA applied for and received a grant which enabled the purchase of 9 Mach III deep basket pole holes. Course design was originally done by Chris Hutchins although a few changes have occurred since the 2015 opening day.
Installation was done by Multimedia Monuments with a labor donation by Chris Hutchins, Jeffrey Retterer, and Mason Hutchins. The course was named Mosquito Creek due to the tiny creek that winds its way around the park, it is as small as a mosquito and frequented by it's namesake.
The course features 9 holes with 18 tee pads, thus creating an 18-hole course. The local Highland County Disc Golf Union (HCDGU) and the Sebring Disc Golf Club (SDGC) are the primary users and guardians of the course. Look for Mosquito Creek on Google Maps, Sebring Disc Golf Club, Highlands County Disc Golf Club, and Sebring Disc Golf at Mosquito Creek on Facebook to connect with the locals.
