It’s NM disc golf so we take what we can get, but this course is EXHAUSTING and losing discs in the “fairways” is almost an inevitability. Not a ton of shot shaping, mostly straight throws up a mountain. Play it in the fall, bring a gallon of water, and good hiking boots.

This course just felt like a slog. Fairways are all unkempt brush and rock, so every shot after the tee is poor footing in knee high brush. Even watching your disc go down in the middle of the fairway you're probably gonna be hunting for some of your shots. The bushwhacking a long way uphill between holes while carrying my bag was pretty grueling. And I'm currently training for a marathon. Most holes feel pretty impossible to birdie even with 375 feet of power. At least half of the holes consist of throwing your most understable disc as hard as you can up a massive hill, not getting anywhere close to a birdie putt, laying up and taking a par. Last minor criticism, most of the tee signs are not even close. The actual distances to the baskets on the course are mostly way longer after the new layout has gone in. 17, and 18 are awesome holes. Like a quarter mile hike through brush past your knees between them... But glad I got to experience the longest hole in the state and snag a birdie on 18!

What a fun, challenging course! Beautiful, long shots requiring power and shot shaping. Hole 17 is now my favorite hole in all of disc golf, such a gorgeous fairway from start to finish. Best course I've played in NM

Super fun course! Mountains golf, lots of uphill and downhill shots, some steep greens. Pars are a bit soft.

Came from San Diego with friends to play the courses here in Ruidoso. This was so much fun, even on 2 hours of sleep. Beautiful views, great hike. Almost aced 6!!

Great course (quite a bit better than Grindstone). Hole distances seem off, mostly signed tees are too long. A couple of soft pars and a few holes that might be better if either a little longer or a little shorter.

Lots and lots of elevation changes here.. lots of tall grass as well, this place was designed to be long and mean, however if you don't maintain it correctly it makes it so much worse to throw. And with that said if you come here for a simple game your wrong.. this is a tuff course and lots of long holes to throw down and through.. not meant for beginners or casual players.. I would love to see this place cleaned up and maintained and see how much better it plays And a 2nd pad (shorts) would really get this place played more in my opinion

This is the real deal. Bring your big boy pants for this championship distance and steep climbs. Views are amazing. Pads in good condition, signs at each pad. Grass is long so recommend having a spotter if you are playing with others. Would give it 5 stars if there was two pads per hole and the grass was shorter. Def play this if you are visiting the area.

My kind of mountain golf! Big trees and big elevation this place is a blast if you have an arm. Be prepared for a hike though some of these hills are pretty brutal. Satisfying birdies to be had out here there’s very few gimmes.

Came in from Lubbock, Texas and played this. Great course! If I came back again, I would definitely wear hiking shoes, but still a great time!

Purely amazing. So much fun! Elevation changes are not only fun to hike, but make this a challenging technical course. If you can become good at this course, you will be a badass anywhere else.
