Loved the course but beware of rattlesnakes. I encountered two different ones while searching for discs. The course itself has some very cool holes and basket placements. Brush and grass can make it hard on some holes to find discs. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area just watch your step!

The cheat grass is out. I had to surrender my socks after my round. The back 9 made up for it. Highly recommend.

Significant number of blind shots. Tee signs weren’t out, maybe because of winter? Back 9 was much more fun than the front.

Super cool course. Back 9 really shines with picturesque and interesting holes. Definitely worth scouting the hole if you haven’t played before. There is a new course near the visitor center but we didn’t explore.

Great course. It rained shortly before I went, so the wild grass was pretty tame. I’ll be going again soon, I’m sure!

What a fun course! Favorite rocky course so far in Idaho. All par 3s.

SO MUCH CHEAT GRASS!!! Absolutely ruined my shoes and socks. There was so much grass stuck in them it would take hours to pull all of it out. If you stay on the fairway you won’t get as much but you will have cheat grass in your shoes and socks no matter what. Higher top boots would probably be the best shoe to wear. You might not get any grass if you did that. Overall the course was good if it didn’t have the grass. The holes are fairly manageable to get par. There’s only really one shorter whole. There is only one whole in the entire course that you can see the whole basket from the tee box. If you haven’t been here before it will be hard to tell where the holes are. The maps they have at each hole are terrible, they don’t tell you any details on where the hole is either. If they painted the baskets a brighter color you would be able to tell where about half of them are. The front nine is a lot flatter but more wooded than the back nine. The back nine is pretty hilly but a little less wooded. There are some good tee boxes in the back nine where you’re on top of a hill that are fun. The views are also great throughout the course.

This is an awesome course. I just loved it. I played it in early May after a bit of rain when the sun came out. It was a surreal experience! Yes it’s a hike but it’s truly gorgeous! I’m a huge fan of natural courses and this is one beauty. Hats off to whomever designed it. You did a great job! And a big thanks to the folks at Idaho state parks for keeping it up. It truly enhanced my 2 night stay.

Map signs on each hole are misleading, other than that fun course.

Excellent use of trees/shrubs. Signage for next hole excellent. Bright flags over holes would help.

Some tee boxes (and trails to the boxes) are overgrown. It’s a great course otherwise and I would recommend playing the front 9 twice if you prefer less hiking. The back 9 has some significant elevation changes and challenging terrain but it gets you some great views. Cleaned up tee boxes would definitely warrant 5 stars

Played last weekend! Slight breeze to cool you off but not effect your throw to much. Course is in great shape.

A very pleasant surprise of a course! It's in great shape (tee pads, greens, rough baskets in good condition) and has very solid signage. Massacre Rocks has some beautiful views and uses the natural elevation of the area well. Many holes are SUPER blind from the tee which can slow down play for first timers and reduce throwing confidence. The front 9 is quite technical (sometimes jankily so) while the back 9 (terrific) plays more open. Very solid course!

Overall a great course. It’s hard to play alone! Definitely want someone to spot on some holes
