About the course

The Lakeland Legends disc golf course is open and ready to play. Located on the Lakeland College campus, the course plays along a walking trail, through beautiful trees and ends by the arboretum. Each hole is named after a legendary person or group in Lakeland College's history, both in Vermilion and Lloydminster. More information on the Legends is coming soon. Temporary tee signs are posted, with permanent signs and tee pads in the works. Disc rentals are available to students in the rec centre by using their student ID. Please yield to pedestrians and vehicles. You must cross the road after hole #4 - use caution as there is no crosswalk.

History

Lakeland Legends is inspired by the legendary members of Lakeland College who went above and beyond for students and our community. Each hole is named after one of these people or groups of people.

Nice little park/campus course with a decent variety of shots, a bit of challenge, but good for beginners as well. Hole 8 is the star of the show with the low ceiling and large mature trees. Work in progress at the moment with just the staked tees and no signage. Excited to see how this course comes together and happy to see Vermilion get a course finally!

Nice, challenging 9 hole course that's a fun change up from some of the more wide-open courses in the area. Awesome to have a course in Vermilion. Looking forward to permanent teepads!

As of July 25, 2025, Hole 5 is not played as shown on uDisc. It is in play after Hole 9. I range found it at 53 yards, or about 160 feet. I also ranged Hole 8 at 72 yards, or about 215. I don't normally throw deep and I figure I gave my drive 250' of power and I was well past the pin. UDisc has it at 270' which I disagree with. No crosswalk to cross between 4 and 6. When I played the road wasn't busy but this could easily become an issue. Pretty nice otherwise. Plays through a walking path along either side of a road, so some spotting and caution will be required at busier times. The road could come into play if you're throwing drives high with big hyzer lines. Low and direct will be your friend here. No signs yet, tee areas are grass marked with a painted wooden stake about a foot tall.
