@looksquirrel
Fun old-school shot shaping. Mostly short holes but can have tight gaps or interesting lines.
@rafi21
I wish I didn't come here. While the park itself is large and nice, but I wouldn't play here in the spring or summer cause it's way too easy to lose a disc in the shrubs and the forest. Maybe if I had a buzzer on my disc but I skipped like 4 holes cause I didn't want to disc losing mine again
@steventodd
Kind of a gem for Freeport… I’ll be playing here again when I’m back in the area. Tee pads could be longer, but very manageable. Had some trouble after 11 finding my way, but once you know you know. Loved the challenge of the gap hits on some shorter holes, super fun!
@nateknutsen
Fun course to play, but definitely not easy to navigate. Signage is missing, next tee isn't intuitive, and baskets can be difficult to find if you don't know where you're looking.
@brad78
Great technical course. I enjoy playing this course.
@kilodelta
Needs new baskets with more clear hole number markings since a lot cross over and double back on eachother. Numerous treks from one hole to another without signage to indicate this. Tee pad signs are miasing or unreadable (damaged). With a bit of funding the issues could be fixed but the locals have worked around this for years ao its not likely.
@toast77
Lacks signage. If not for UDisc I wouldn’t have found the next hole a few times. Not mowed. Holes play over the road too many times. Hole 11 area is a pain, cars coming toward you people walking back up from 16. Just seems like an accident waiting to happen
@nattydread710
This course is maintained by locals and not the park district. While they help where they can, its all local work. It's a wooded course, it's not easy. The same locals who completely revamped Highland College course. Keep it on the fairway. That being said We will be working on getting new baskets and new signage for 2025. I have read everyone's reviews. We have been working on new baskets and signage since 2023/2024 but it's a park district so it's not easy. Some days are busier than others, it's a Park! There's going to be obstacles like cars and people especially on the weekends. We've been working hard at Krape. We've only taken over course maintenance and overall care in the last two years. If you dont like to scuff your discs, scratch your legs, or hit a tree, Krape is not for you! Go to Highland where it's nice and open.
@kar795
The park itself is very cool, this one is my favorite course. I drive 30-45 minutes to get here just for this course. Mostly for the beauty of the park itself.
@mjmilam
Nice park course. Layout on back 9 is tricky. Longer walks to next tee box. Signs are broken and incorrect. New Update for August 2024: they really came through! In prep for the Pretzel City Tournament a dedicated crew really put in the work. The course is looking and playing great. The overgrown areas (especially #4 and #5) have been addressed. If you’re in the area and haven’t played it in a while - Now’s The Time! Thanks to the Freeport Disc golf community for getting this course in such great shape.
@mattingly18
Would be great but it’s hard to find tee pads on a few holes. Better signage needed bad.
@icemanxx86
Short with a few technical shots. A lot of 250 or less foot shots. Not a problem course at all.
@rwubben
They should really put some garbage cans throughout the course. They were empty drink containers around a few tees.
@brandonlutmer
Some cool shots but the back nine is laid out pretty stupid
@schmeegle
Fun technical course with plenty of chances for unique shots. Course becomes much more interesting when playing ob’s. The park does not maintain the course other than mowing fairways. Shout out to the group of guys that volunteer their time for upkeep. Decent pads. Signs suck (that’s on the park to fix. Baskets same as the signage issue, it’s on the park. $13,000+ was raised for Highland but cannot do the same at Krape due to Park districts preferences. Some traffic to deal with sometimes but not bad if you pay attention.
@samrowell
Don’t play in the rain and wind
@vthonn
Signage could be better. Live UDisc not that that exists t after first few holes.
