About the course

. San Antonio's closest thing to a "championship caliber" course that plays across the sprawling Live Oak City Park (along with the Lakeside Layout). The rough is Texas brush which means everything sticks, stabs, stings, or bites. The course includes two very difficult par 5's and numerous par 4's and has both long and short layouts. The course is always very well maintained, has great signage, and has lots of other park features that make it a destination for SA Disc Golf. This course is on the list of must play courses and is ranked #2 in the greater San Antonio area. John Houck Design

John Houck does it again. Tough to play after rain. I got my butt whooped. 😂

Some good shot variety is the best thing about it. The endless rocks and scrub are the worst. I'm not saying it's lacking in design, but the longs are not fun to play. So punishing. So rocky. Miserable long uphill holes that are all rocks and scrub. But there are also some nice big trees and more open holes, so variety saves it from a worse score. Some of the pads are not great and no bathrooms. I hear the red tees (shorts) are more playable, so do that.
