Amazing course, so unique to what I usually play in Charlotte. It’s a hike but really neat to share the space with the gondolas and mountain bikes. The long grass added a variable I’m not used to but didn’t lose any discs during my solo round.
@nlanger
Don’t follow UDisc for directions. Use the Village Lot parking lot once you get to the resort.
@34blast
Bugs that laugh at bug spray, grass head high, tiny tee pads, but the biggest disappointment was almost all the holes run horizontal on the mountain. I went here to enjoy large elevation changes. The elevation changes are just for walking LOL. The place is beautiful though with unmatched scenery.
@jscotty
Disappointing for the “number 1” course in the state… but the views were incredible!!
@wadewoodhouse
New signage just got installed! The updated version of this course is much improved from last year. The course now features wooded technical drives and scenic downhill bombs! Make sure to bring plenty of water and be ready to hike.
@mikestoner
Fun course and super fun to play on the side of the mountain.
@hellyeah
Course was fun! We played the first 18 holes on a cloudy and wet morning. My shoes and socks are soaked but only from dew. Don't follow Google maps to find parking, park at the resort and walk through the resort grounds onto the slopes to the course. The layout is great, and short holes make up for the long walks in between, but nice views and fun watching people biking.
@davidslater116
Tee pads are very short but overall great experience
@saucertosser21
Super fun intermediate level course with good use of elevation. If this course had better baskets it would be top tier. Otherwise no complaints.
@mattszallen
For a volunteer-maintained course, this is pretty solid. The fairways were just mowed, so if you keep your disc in the intended fairway, you'll be set. Getting off of the fairway is treacherous, however. I lost a disc not more than 20 feet from the fairway in dense foliage. Adding onto this that a number of the baskets are blind from the tee makes for high potential of frustration. Finding my way around was a little confusing as well. Oh, and make sure you bring your bug spray, a mid-round reapplication will be necessary a few times.
@mtcherry
The 2023 layout of JHMR is even better than 2022's layout. Creative use of elevation and the signature holes from last year remain, while the new holes incorporate more woods, creeks and guarded greens into the mix for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The new tee pads are a real treat, and I am sure upkeep and signage will get better as the season wears on (we had a long, snowy winter in Jackson which delayed the course opening). While there are a few shots that play over roads & paths, a spotter solves the problem. This course has 4.5 potential once signage is out and the walking paths get worn in. A real blast!
@jaredh12
The course is challenging and fun! Incredible views throughout. Course plays best in September and worst in the spring. Consider playing the Shootout Layout to experience the best that the course has to offer!
@mjchelbe4549
Probably one of the most beautiful curses you'll ever play. Of course, design does leave a little to be desired, a bit unimaginative for the unbelievable terrain. Decent tpads
@brandonreyes
It’s very much a work in progress. I can’t say I love the layout, but the views are amazing. Be sure to take UDisc with you. Without it, I would’ve been incredibly lost.
@rmellish3
Course is newly updated this year. It’s a mountain course so expect a lot of hiking and thick rough of you’re way off the fairway. Tee pads aren’t concrete, but it’s a mountain course and they are level and well maintained with brooms.
@bigmic
Awesome course! Lots of elevation change, speed control is key. Love the brooms for sweeping the tee pads.
@krisgreen
Great course. Good for beginners. A slight hike but not too bad.
@mattmarkham
Tee pads were rough. Couldn’t find holes F & G. Cool layout, but course definitely felt like an after thought.
@dalthecow
Good layout
