@jerspisak
Wear leather boots, double socks, and tough long pants and you will have a great time
@kwinkeleer
As I was cleaning out my garage I found my rubber boots that still had needles sticking out of it and reminded me of this course, so I decided to make a review since the course is now gone and I didn't want the memory to die. The course had so much potential but the cacti and stickers are next level, borderline horror movie. When you were playing you're just sweaty and sad and it makes you re-think life. I know it's gone but if for some wild reason this course pops back up hopefully the cacti catch a disease and never come back. So long frisco disco.... you'll be missed.

@discmanwes
SO MUCH CACTI. I thought maybe just parking the baskets would help avoid it. Think again. It is literally everywhere and hurts so bad. I would not recommend this course to anyone
@mikesjohnson
I always looked forward to playing here when I come down to OBX Unfortunately it is no more , I was just there and found the land has been sold all the baskets gone
@sgar2600
If you are looking for free acupuncture this is your course. Just walking around trying to find tee pad 1 results in so many cactus and spikes in your shoes. Somehow the cactus seem to be magnetically attracted to your skin. Be careful picking up your discs after each throw as they will be completely covered in cactus. After basket #2, you actually sort of forget that you are walking on a bed of spikes. You will be reminded when you finally walk again on concrete and the spikes are pushed further into your feet. Overall, fantastic views. Wear muck boots. Most unique course I ever played. Make sure to bring alcohol, not just for drinking but to disinfect the many puncture wounds you will get.
@eeaaron
Excellent course, would highly recommend if no cacti.🌵 is pain.

@tkasler
I had a blast playing this course and will come back again for sure. All the reviews about the cactus are true. It’s amazing to see that almost the whole course is just a carpet of small cactus. It’s insane and kind of entertaining how crazy it is. If you come prepared with thick boots and the expectation that you’re going to play on a cactus carpet at an old course that’s limping along with some new baskets and some rusty ones then you’ll have a good time. It seems abandoned but also like someone must care about it and do a little upkeep. Definitely a unique funky course.
@abeabe
The other review that says no pussys is 100% accurate. If you have never heard of foot fuckers… play here n find out. Pretty much just baskets placed on a field of small cactuses. Also, was easiest to just park by the road/ old entrance and just walk to hole 1 from there.

@hasslehoff
You can tell that at one time this course was legit. Some baskets still remain but there has been zero upkeep for years. I wore boots and still had cacti prick my feet. Never seen such a high concentration of cacti. Not worth playing but have to give it two stars because of what it clearly once was. Having a legit disc golf course on Hatteras Island would be amazing!!
@shanes73
Cactus are ferocious!! Recommend very hard bottom boots and that still might not be enough. I added some pics of my wife and my shoes. If it wasn’t for the cactus, the course “rusticness” is pretty cool.

@sjhutch
Course gets a 5 just because of the unique experience. Thought boots and jeans would be enough but cacti started poking through. So so so much untapped potential 🥲It actually wasn’t the cactus that did it for me but the tiny microscopic burrs that are still embedded in my hand
@hcberglie
Pretty fun course just need some good boots and to watch your step
@ymmd300
Having app and appropriate clothing is a must, but avoid playing in the summer

@jtrainor101
You will never forget playing this course 10/10 disc golf experience Don’t play alone

@tylergeorge18
They let it go for too long/too much… unplayable!

@discgolfcraig
Incredible terrain and setting with rolling dunes, hills, woods, and water, giving this course far better bones than most coastal layouts and real long-term potential. • Several genuinely fun and creative holes, including pond-side #2, retaining-wall greens on #3, downhill tee shots on #7 and #9, uphill finishes on #4 and #16, and a unique basket setting on #6. • Leans technical over power, with tight wooded stretches (#13–15), baskets tucked late into woods, and multiple high risk-reward decisions where placement matters more than distance. • Outstanding scenery throughout, including ocean views and dramatic backdrops that make the round memorable even when the golf itself is uneven. • Navigation and infrastructure are the biggest flaws, with inconsistent or missing signage, poor basket condition, confusing routing, and a course that cannot be played blind without a map or app. • Quirky, rough around the edges, and sometimes unsafe or awkwardly executed, but surprisingly enjoyable if you come prepared and accept it as an unconventional, high-potential coastal course rather than a polished park layout.

@elgobo
If mad max build a thunder dome disc golf course this is what it would look like. I played in good shoes and tall socks. Do not make my mistake. Get yourself a cactus stick ( you will thank me later) and bring heavy duty boots and pants and it is not only playable but fun. It’s a 5 for adventure and the layout is fun and challenging. But I can’t give it a 5. It’s a solid layout for a par 3 course and the story and setting are worth the trip. I spent 2 hours playing and 1 hour picking out spikes.
