About the course

This course is located at the back of Freitag Memorial Park in Forest Junction, WI. It is entirely wooded course, other than the practice hole, and is really the only use this woods sees. Freitag Memorial Park, and the disc golf course, is owned and maintained by the Forest Junction Civic League for use by the public.

History

Freitag Memorial Park was established by the Forest Junction Civic League on twenty-four acres of land generously donated in 1961 by Viola (Freitag) Walker (an heir of the estate of Edward Freitag) to be developed and used solely for public enjoyment as a park. The course was originally designed and installed by FJCL members in 2003 as a full 18 hole course. The fairways were very narrow. In 2016, the course was redesigned and consolidated to 9 holes using the original back 9. Each hole has two baskets and two tee pads for a total of 36 different holes to play. This made for wider fairways and easier to maintain, making the course more fun to play. More recent efforts have been put in to reduce the amount of standing water on the course which has helped reduce the mosquito population.

There are no elevation changes on the course, but some tee pads do require a step up to get onto. The entire course is flat and all wide pathways between holes, but the ground can be soft after rain or in the spring.

Challenging but fun 10 hole that has long and short pads and baskets with a good variety of shots throughout

wooded 9 hole with 2 pads and 2 baskets per hole. Fun time if you have bug spray and it hasn’t rained much. Blue to blue has to tough lines and could benefit from some better signage to next tee
