Mix of open field and tight woods. Grass in the fairways was cut and the paths and bridges were clear. Great variety of holes and distances with the multiple layouts and baskets.

So, Fairfield is a top-tier, destination course that was in need of some trim work in some overgrown, off-fairway sections. The course recently got some clean-up, but I wouldn’t categorize it as “trim work”. Or a buzz cut. This was some serious manscaping! To a local who’s played this course for several years, certain holes are almost unrecognizable with off-fairway sections completely removed. Most purists and shot-shapers will not be impressed. Bombers and non-scramblers might give it a thumbs up. Some of this course’s backwoods, sanctuary appeal is gone. Thankfully, most of it is still intact.

Great foundation of a course but the drawbacks of poor tee signs and proximity to tee pads are a real detriment to my score for this course. Certainly some fun woods golf here but the open holes are a little too repetitive.

Two sets of baskets that start to differ the more you go into course, cut fairways with tall grass for rough, tough and long wooded holes in gold layout

Looks great. Lots of work has gone into this course. Gold is super challenging. White is less difficult, but still a very fun course.

Awesome course with 2 18-hole layouts. The first 3 holes are pretty wide open but the consistent wind and rolling hills still make them a bit tricky, you can also play the tall grass as hazard or OB to add some challenge. Holes 4-18 are great holes challenging a variety of shot types and tight lines.

Super beautiful long course. Some long technical wooded holes and some open bombs. Two baskets and tee locations for most. Awesome.

Solid course. Golds play true to par and the woods is nice and challenging. Fairways are fair and signage is good enough. Pretty good spot!

A porter potty in the woods would be nice

Good signage regarding where next tee is at. No maps of holes on signs, so take a pic of the course map by the parking lot.

Though removal of invasive buckthorn has opened up multiple holes, it is still a great layout.

Like Dellwood, there’s a huge variety of layouts available to play. Bring bug spray and watch for ticks in the tall grass. Can get very busy when the weather is nice. Always check udisc to see if there’s a league playing. Major landscaping changes to remove invasion buckthorn occurred in 2025, as well as the planting of several trees along the front fairways.
