@caxixikid
Nice community park course. Many short holes, some blind shots, slight elevations, and a few tight fairways. Enjoyed playing for the first time. Tees are marked pretty well.
@chrishahn
Looks like I missed mowing day. A couple of leaf covered areas by baskets (on slopes)โฆ overall a great course, no major gripes that wonโt be fixed in a few weeks as more mowing takes place.
@hugoborg
Solid park-style course. Good elevation changes and a solid throw
@adepew81
Great upkeep, you can tell the community cares about this course. Great signage and basket locations. Seasons change the way you play this course for sure. Kudos ๐
@isuaggie
Nice 18 hole park course. Mature trees and hills define the course character. An enjoyable play.
@frogfur
The course gets cut in half starting in October because of Christmas lights. Otherwise itโs a fun little park style course.
@frognuts
October 18th and the course is already altered for christmas decorations, silly! The winter layout course is good enough to get a taste of what the course has to offer in the summer season, (which being in a park, the summertime will add pedestrians ๐ซค). Lots of welcomed elevation change.
@austinl92
Awesome Am course!
@zmink95
Great course. Well maintained and great varieties. Will definitely be back
@notrobert
Great find, this course. Passing thru on my way east and its well worth playing
@clintp34
Great course!!.... except loosing my strive on hole 17 short right.
@badgergatan
The Effington course is a baffling design which succeeds in using as much park space as possible, but utterly fails in designing shots which are either interesting or respectful to the player. Most of the shots on the course are blind, and inexplicably, the entire thing has been designed as a par 3 course. Normally, a Par 3 course has a few outliers - shots which are a touch long or short in favor of simplicity. This course abuses that convention atrociously. Nearly every shot has distances that are either entirely too long for par 3, plus additional obstacles which would normally add to the target par on their own. Others should be a Par 2. I normally drop a disc into foliage once a course; here, I had four tumble down steep hills into brush. If I didnโt have a retriever hook, none would have been retrievable. Many shots also run through poison ivy. Overall an inconsistent course which lacks identity. Boring at best, infuriating at worst, but on average, the worst course Iโve ever played. If this is a 4.3, then Illinoisโ standard is on the floor.
@geigerhyzer
Very thoughtfully designed with lots of mandatory signs and OB. Plays around a park but distinguishes itself from a true park style course by being awesome!
@msheddan
Nice park with a lot of shot variety. Good baskets and tees but some holes not available due to Christmas lights. Even winter Christmas layout on UDisc is not all playable. Still plenty of holes that you can play. Not my favorite course I've ever played but would be happy to come back. Worth a look if in the area
@sneakysnake
This is a solid beginner to intermediate course. There is good shot selections and elevation change as well. The park is pretty and most of the holes fell under 350 ft so you dont need a big arm to do well.
@lukejones
Solid 3.5 star Disc golf course that makes for a good stop off I 70 to stretch your legs. Course flow is fairly easy to follow. Really liked the use of elevation. Baskets are greatโฆ.Mach X. Tee signs were good enough and seemed consistent with my range finder. Benches throughout. Iโm not quite sure what skill level this course is intended for and with that respect it has a bit of an identity crisis. For an advanced player like me who consistently throws 380โ some holes weโre just unreachable. Others seemed a bit too short for an advanced player. So in that respect there are quite a few tweener holes that could have been made longer for a good par 4 or shortened for an intermediate or beginner to reach. Fun enough but design tweaks could probably get it closer to a 4ish star course in my opinion.
@awaningreign
This place is absolutely great. One of the best I've played in IL.
@kindofblue
Wonky layout but fun enough.
@mjanhyzer
Great layout given the space provided. Detailed tee signs, and a course map next to hole 1. Big concrete tee pads, and awesome use of elevation changes. Really is a hidden gem of a course here in Illinois. Fun for beginners, and with OBs can even be a challenge to more experienced players.
