Outstanding setting and location on the Outer Banks, making this a course that’s enjoyable almost regardless of conditions. • Heavily wooded, shot-shaping layout with dual tees and multiple basket positions, offering meaningful variety between a short (≈4,800 ft) and long (≈7,200 ft) layout. • Strong infrastructure overall, with solid tee signs, frequent next-tee indicators, bridges over wet areas, and thoughtful extras like brooms on tee pads. • High risk-reward golf throughout, where small misses can kick deep into the woods, but creative recovery shots are often available due to minimal underbrush. • The back nine is clearly the stronger side, featuring longer, more varied holes, highlighted by a well-designed multi-shot closing hole on #18. • Downsides are repetition and confusion, with several holes feeling similar, inconsistent tee and basket markings across layouts, occasional missing or inaccurate signage, and uneven execution of the longer tees.
