Great course. Don’t skip leg day! Lots of ups and downs on the front 9. Amazing tee pads- concrete with green turf. The area is scenic and well maintained. Maybe a water carry would give it that one memorable shot it needs to stand out.

Probably the best backyard course I’ve played but it’s not a #1 or a top 100 you drive 3.5 hours as I did. Tees were not perfectly flat, no tee signs only distances chalked on a paver. I fell twice on this course due to loose gravel and steep inclines and I never fall golfing. Woods holes were the best part. Hole 1 was good and 4 with a forehand flex and 10s tight downhill hyzer but nothing I’m going to remember. After the woods it became open and lost its appeal. The main layout wasn’t very hard and the other layouts didn’t seem to add much difficulty. For a #1 or top world course it needs a difficulty much higher than here. It’s over rated ya but for a park style course in your back yard it’s likely the best you will ever come across.

I'm astounded at what this owner has created on his own private property. The fact that he chooses to share it with all of us for FREE is amazing and should be commended. Like many of the best private courses I have played this one is kept really well. The lawns on the open holes are well trimmed and in the woods holes there is never really any rough deep enough to fear losing discs. I can't believe he maintains it this well for free. The course is great. I had a lot of fun today on my trip through to the shore. As many state, you start off with 11 wooded holes. There are a lot of fun shots to be had here, including many elevated up or down drives that make you choose shot shapes. The final eight holes play in his "yard" so to speak and start letting you wind out some drives. Stand out holes for me include the hanging basket on the elevated 2nd Hole and while we're at it that 1st Hole takes two good shots. I thought the bits of civil war history were really cool, which include some placards notating a trench and an "ice pit" from the war that still exist, which is cool as hell. This is a great course that needs a lot of straight drives to score well. I may be too harsh on rating and I'm willing to accept that. A good course isn't the same as an elite course. There just aren't that many shots in the woods that I'll remember a year from now. They are same-y up and down drives, usually doglegging and with a tight gap at some point. The final holes let you grip and rip but are just baskets in the yard. Far too many reachable Par 3s and I'm a noodle arm. Great courses should have more 4s and 5s. A "5-star course" would need better tees, some more amenities like garbage cans and if I'm being real nitpicky - Tee signs. I know it's a private yard course and taking that in mind, he's done an amazing job. Just not sure it's as elite as many thought.

Great course on a beautiful private property. Call ahead, but they were friendly with me asking to play the next day. Great place! Lots of hiking, especially the first 12 holes, but no wasted space between holes so that's great. Love the design!

Fantastic golf course in beautiful wooded and hilly setting (first 11), and then long grassy holes where you can let your disk fly. Lots of changes of elevation, particularly the first 11.

Easily the greatest private course I've played. Must visit, must play!

Great use of elevation and solid mix of different shots. Many thanks to the owner. If it had better tees sign I might give it a five. When I compare it to Wilcox the best course I’ve played it’s not quite at that level but that’s also not a private course. For a private course of this size it doesn’t get much better. Was hoping for a water carry or two. Would suggest bright discs as the leaves are heavy now. Let me rip

First 11 holes are a hike. Need spotters for hole 3 and 10. Hole 8 has water to right. Beautiful property. Some pads are on the road/ driveway. We had to search for a minute for some pads. Holes 12 through 18 are in the open. For this to be a 4 or 5 star course. They need actual tee signs and better baskets. Baskets are just practice baskets and tee signs are pavers you can bearly read.

Very pretty homestead course. Signage and sight lines could be improved a bit, but overall great experience

Beautiful private course with a great first half: second half is more generic open holes but definitely still fun!

Decent course on private land, but there are better in Virginia. To say it's a top 100 course is a stretch.

So much fun. Def forgot I was on a private course. I honestly enjoyed the open holes a lot and that’s saying a ton for me.

Beautiful and historic property. Well maintained . Plays through the woods with tons of elevation and spits out into open holes with challenging lines to hit. Best private course I've played.

Thank you to the owner of the course for letting us play for free and being so welcoming very fun Course, if your not in shape holes 1-11 will be tough for you to manage the uphills

Good course and lots of elevation change. Could definitely make stairs and ramps to make walking easier. Unfortunately did not get to use the potty on hole 2.

Amazing course, very well-kept with good turf tees. The perfect mix of open and wooded holes with great shot variety. Front 9 feels a bit chaotic with blind shots, overlapping holes, and lots of baskets scattered across the property. But definitely one of the best courses on this section of 95.
