The recent redesign of the front 9 is a massive improvement. Gone are the scraggly, uphill and downhill wooded shots that felt more like hiking than disc golf. In their place are well thought out approaches that make great use of the wooded terrain without feeling repetitive or punishing. The new tee pad locations are a welcome upgrade, and overall the course has taken a big step toward a more professional, intentional layout. Some people are leaving bad reviews, but let’s be real: most of the complaints seem to come from folks who don’t like being challenged. The tighter lines take more precision, and yeah, some holes are shorter, but that doesn’t make them easy. It just means you actually have to shape a shot. The layout rewards smart play, not just power. Change is hard for some people, especially when it means the course grew up a little. But honestly, this redesign is exactly what the place needed. There’s clearly been a lot of care and planning here, and it shows. Great work and great improvements!

This has been my home course in all my years of playing disc golf. It's undergone two big renovations that I recall. The new changes are a new chapter for Calvary and I like the appeal of using the entire wooded area as much as possible. It forces specific lines that I think is needed, especially for players playing in town just starting to learn the game, and enough challenge for technical touch shots for more advanced players. Amazing baskets, in my top the favorite. Pretty signs are great, but accurate signage would be a big plus, but I often use a rangefinder anyway. I am really unimpressed with some of the rudeness in reviews, some are completely off base and uninformed but, if you are part of the community speak with constructive language please.

Featuring what appear to be new DGA Mach X baskets and older tee pads, it is clear that work is being done to improve this course. With a mixture of open and wooded holes, the course designer did an excellent job of utilizing the available space and avoiding conflict with other park users. Tee signs are new and professional and directional signs make navigation easy. While half of the holes are open and present little challenge, the wooded section of the course requires hitting tight lines. Well worth playing and I look forward to seeing the course improve in the future.

REDESIGN UPDATE: I’m stuck in a dichotomy where I can both appreciate the work put in on this redesign, and also not like it nearly as much as the original layout. The flow makes absolutely no sense in some places. #6 feels super gimmicky, especially after an unnecessarily long walk. Same thing with #12. Just weird. My favorite course in St. Cloud! A great variety of shots. Super fun for all skill levels. If you have not played it, check it out! (June 2023)
@brianphillips
Course needs a little tlc. And new up to date tee signs.. current ones are horrible. Mainly do to the multiple pin locations it would be great if the had dorections on tee signs to show you pin locations Tee 5 is horrible
@jonnyt123
Decent park course with some good variety between wooded and open. Pros: fun layout, duel teepads, easily accessible to general public Cons: outdated and somewhat confusing, signage, iffy teepads, wooded holes need more trimming, old baskets, and some interesting walks from hole to hole. It’s rated at 4 stars; that’s about what it should be. The open holes remind me of Todd Park in Austin, MN.
@jpp1313
The Course Designer should retire after this design. Too many holes crammed next to each other in the woods. Having to walk on the road to hole 5 is also a stupid idea as well.
@jacksonp010
Park course, nothing too special, nothing too bad.
@benmarolf
Fun shots, pars should be updated to be realistic (probably par 3 everything). Tee-pads need love.
@robbitthehobbit
Great Park Golf course. Good combination of woods and park holes. Super fun to play and lots of shot variety. Woods is tight and some of the lines should be better defined and pars reduced. Had a great time. Edit July 2nd 2025 - The course has been updated since I last played. Fairways are much improved with new lines and new holes entirely. Less traveling up and down the hill and more playing around the hill instead. I wish I had played better, but that's for next time I guess.
@doopster
Downgrading my rating from 4 to 3 stars for the new layout
@shaynesaw
I like what was done with the front 4, but now you really have to be careful teeing off of hole 3 as to not overshoot it. I've played the new design twice and already seen 3 discs fly into the parking lot. Don't park behind that basket. Hole 6 is straight up dangerous. Path is narrow with a retaining wall that drops straight to the road. As a father who brought his kids to this course all the time, I'll be skipping holes 5-8 and straight to 9 after hole 4 if my kids are with me. There should be some kind of fencing on that path. That said, I LOVE the new holes in the woods and the back 6. Definitely a fresh take on a course I've played hundreds of times. The club and city did a great job compensating for the erosion on the hill. The scenery is nice in the woods and some of the lines are very technical and short, as a DGer who loves technical courses (mostly cause I can't bomb 400 on a dime), I really appreciated those designs. Great job everyone! The more I play it, the more I'll love it.

I really hate what they've done with the course. I like the old course for the ace runs on a nice park like setting. Now they spread out the holes to use up the whole property. It's probably great for the league guys, but I liked the old setup. There's no extra room for any park goers and the road and parking lot really push up to the holes in spots. And a lot of extra walking between holes. It doesn't flow well any more. Just my opinion, thanks.
@argemiro
A nice well maintained course. Wood chips recently laid down accentuates the course scenery. All baskets in good/decent condition.
@dsk666
Some missing baskets? Or I just couldn’t find them.. I remember it being more fun. A good course to learn on
@nickareno
Great mix of holes. Kept up pretty well. Can get busy at times, but that's the sign of a good course. Nice elevation changes over the course as well.
@joshschloe
Course plays much better than it used to. Some added difficulty with distance and woods shots. People will find anything to complain about.
