About the course

Please text me personally. Name, group size, date and time is required to play this course. Online booking is also available. www.bluegoosediscgolf.com -Tee times are required- The Course: A private family owned 36 hole disc golf course on a beautiful wooded old tobacco farm land. There are 36 baskets divided in 2 different courses. Yellow - and Blue course The yellow course (Yellow Rim Baskets) is more open and therefore very scenic. The blue course (Blue Rim Baskets) is a little more challenging through the wooded area, especially during the summer time. All holes are relative short so 36 baskets can be played within 3-4 hours by a group of 4. It’s a beginners friendly course, because of the shorter distances, but also very challenging due to the wooded areas and constant elevation changes. There are 3 shared (RED) baskets that are played on both course alike, blue course (winter) and yellow course (summer) from different direction so please be aware of flying discs from a separate group. The course is designed for very low traffic due to overlapping fairways and shared baskets. Each hole has personalized names that have been created during process building the course. The individual names and almost completely privacy makes that course fun and very unique, but still a challenging experience. Good Luck! Yellow Course: First tee is behind the greenhouse. Please follow the yellow signs. All tees are within 50 feet of the previous baskets so just look up and you’ll see the next yellow sign, maybe It’s right behind you so in many cases you drop your bag at the next tee and take your putter. The phone UDISC app is NOT needed to locate the next tee box and most baskets are visible from the tees so the course is perfect for the UDISC watch app. Blue Course: First tee is by the fireplace next to basket on number 18 on yellow. Please follow the blue signs which leads to the next tees. All tees are very close to the next basket and can't be missed. Hole 3,6 & 12 are currently shared RED baskets. (RED) All Around Course or White course Please ignore the white number signs. It’s only been used for tournaments so far. Important Note: The property is heavy wooded and between May - October completely overgrown. The fairways are cleared, but the rest of the wooded area is Kentucky untouched wilderness so wearing solid hiking boots and long pants is recommended. There are brambles, poison ivy, locust trees and other dangerous plants everywhere that your Frisbee might land unintentionally. The course has constant elevation changes so it could be quite a workout. -PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK- Policy: Respect the wildlife so please leave all animals alone. Also, please don’t take anything like turtle shells, deer antlers, turkey eggs or anything else (yes, even discs) that you might find. Please return all found discs to the greenhouse, with or without name. Thank you! Please also respect the course cleanliness so leave —NO TRACE BEHIND— Smoking Policy: NO SMOKING Smoking is NOT permitted at the course due safety and cleaning reason. Smoking is permitted at the fireplace or at the first tee at both courses. —NO TRACE BEHIND— Trash Policy: There are no trash cans in the woods so take everything out that you take in. It took us 20 years to clean up the property so this system only works if you do your part as well. There is a brown trash can at the parking area behind the greenhouse. Thank You! Protection: Unfortunately, ticks are real problem between April - September, but mostly during the Spring season so try to protect yourself. Spiderwebs are everywhere late summer. (August - September) -PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK- (Tick spray on side) Waiver and Release of Liability: -PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK- We can’t be liable for personal injury or property damage. Amenities: - Bathroom is at the pool area. Follow the Blue Goose signs and turn before the main house left to the gravel road.

History

My name is Stefan, and I was born in Germany, specifically in the Black Forest region. In 2000, I relocated to Frankfort, Kentucky, to establish my business and met my wife. A week before the birth of our daughter, we embarked on a quest to find a suitable house for our growing family. During this journey, we stumbled upon this particular property while simply driving and exploring the surrounding area. While I personally didn’t particularly like the house itself, we were absolutely captivated by the property’s natural beauty. Owning a piece of woodland had always been a cherished dream of mine, especially considering my roots in the Black Forest. Over the past two decades, we have diligently worked to restore and enhance the property, constructing a remarkable 3.5 miles of trails. In 2019, as a Christmas gift from my brother-in-law, who worked at Dick’s Sporting Goods, we received a disc golf basket for $15. Initially, we didn’t pay much attention to it until the COVID-19 pandemic struck. We assembled the basket and began playing a game called “horse” or “pig.” As with many others during that time, we stayed home and, in response to the growing interest in disc golf, purchased additional baskets from Amazon for $99, eventually accumulating a total of 18 holes. All the hard work we had put in over the past two decades finally paid off as we set up the basket and embarked on our first disc golf adventure. We invited the entire neighborhood, friends, and family to join us for a game. Surprisingly, none of us were familiar with the sport at the time, and it wasn’t until a year later that someone introduced us to the UDisc app. As soon as I downloaded the app, I was astounded by the sport’s popularity. My initial thought was that I had somehow invented the game, although I was aware of its existence. However, I had never truly comprehended how it was played or realized how perfectly suited it was for our surroundings. Inspired by this newfound interest, we created a disc golf course on UDisc, kept the score, but intentionally kept it hidden from public view for a year. During this time, we also discovered other disc golf courses in the area and gradually gained a deeper understanding of the sport. Consequently, we designed another course that was entirely wooded and ideal for our canine companions. My wife eventually convinced me to open this course to the public in May 2022. She expressed her concern that I might be putting too much effort into it and urged me to share it with everyone. Initially, I resisted the idea, but I eventually relented. A few weeks later, people started showing up and enjoying the course, even though we didn’t have tee pads or pro-baskets yet. Over the past three years, we’ve been actively listening to all the disc golfers who visit us, paying close attention to their playing styles, and of course, we’ve gained a wealth of experience traveling across the USA and Europe, playing every course we discover. In May 2024, we were recognized as the fifth best disc golf course in Kentucky, and in March 2025, we were honored with the ranking of #48 in the world and #2 in Kentucky.

Great variety of shot shapes and great use of the terrain. Mix of wooded and open holes. Property has 2 courses so multiple layouts available for play. Tee pads are brick and could be improved but a great and fun course to play!
