Weave through mixed-age pine, larch, and fir... Stroll thru 1-9 and scramble thru 10-18
Description
Seeley-Swan High School's course, created and maintained by the SSHS Student Council, weaves through towering Ponderosa Pine, Douglas Fir, and Larch near Morrell Creek in Seeley Lake, Montana.
Holes 1-9 traverse mellow, flat terrain; they serve as both appetizer for the hardy and complete meal for those seeking a pleasant half-hour fix.
Holes 10-18 do not care if you are on a schedule or if you'd prefer to keep debris OUTSIDE your shoes. I mean, they're manageable, but they do require commitment to a loose climb immediately after a potentially humbling uphill throw (#11) and a steep descent after you meet our special friend (#14). At #16, you'll approach the creek and then wind your way over, under, and around deadfall. At the #18 tee, you'll likely put your hand on the massive, all-knowing Ponderosa next to you, and as you choke back tears, you'll probably say, "I really don't want it to end, ol' pal." And the tree will be all like, "Dry up, fool. Just play another round. And this time, don't forget to leave a few bucks for the club. And, I saw you walk past that candy wrapper on #4. Not cool. Pick it up. And, if I may be so bold, you need to work on your putts."
