Traveled three hours from Lincoln, Nebraska to play this course and was horribly disappointed.. all that property and you can’t figure out proper placements for holes. How many wide open bombs do you need to have on a 18 hole course. Played very easy and very boring. Very boring.!
@budhuyzer
Beautiful, well maintained course.
@davidnordquist
Nice for people that can throw far but single layout with really fixable upkeep problems.
@calebq2
One of the best courses in Iowa! A bit of a local secret possibly. Distance is a fun challenge for an intermediate to advanced player.
@ging3rvituz
Only thing missing is some amenities. A bathroom or two would have been great. Course design was perfect. No hole the same
@lolabud85
Cool course that wraps around the state mental health institution. Good signage. Def wouldn’t call it a top 5 course in Iowa though
@joelhyler
I loved this course it played so well. I’m a 3.5 hour drive away and if I’m ever over here again I’ll definitely come back.
@jcshort
Freshly mowed and there was a guy out doing some trimming on low-hanging branches. Beautiful course and very great and fun design. Well done!
@kitstopher
So many mosquitos. I don't know if I just picked a bad time, but there were probably 20-30 mosquitos on my bag every time I put it down. Came across a couple places with nettle inside C1. Vast majority of the holes prefer a RHBH shot, wish there was more variety. The setting on a mental health institute is very unique and I had a fun time, but I'm kind of surprised how acclaimed this course is - there really just wasn't a ton of variety.
@borisbecker475
Very unique land, Mental Health Institute!. Nice, new DisCatchers and trash can on each hole. The history here makes you think of what people suffered from
@clefeber
By far the most unique course I have played. Would make the drive over here again. Shot selection varies with well place trees.
@jonnyt123
Old growth trees on a piece of land this large is rare. This course is incredibly unique and is not comparable to any other I’ve played. The scenery is specific to this course only. The holes are also laid out very well and teepads and signage are on point. Worth a trip for sure. Hope to come back someday.
@hawkguy
Hidden Gem course built on grounds of Mental Health Institute. Great use of land. Glad I stopped while in the area.
@marciniak1
An all-time course, and one of the best kept secrets in Iowa. Plenty of long bomber shots, including one that is 800 feet. Great shot design and good signage and pads. One of the coolest locations I have ever had the opportunity to disc golf at; if you are on the fence about making the drive out here, let this review be the sign that you need to come and give it a play.
@akramski
Open long challenging course. Beautifully maintained and managed. Great tee pads. Awesome baskets. Insane asylum views… which were lovely. JC would not like the length.
@forgiven
Awesome course very good mix of open and technical holes with long and short distances
@mattyk9
Course layout is funtastic. Some absolute bomber holes on a beautiful campus. Very unique property for a disc golf course, well worth your drive.
@itz1adam12
Absolutely fantastic course at a unique location. Different shot shapes, different pars and lovely scenery with big mature trees. If you're in the area, I'd highly recommend making a trip!
