Fun little short course with tight woods and some good elevation changes, South Burlington's first disc golf course.
Description
Awasiwi in the native Abnaki language means "beyond, farther, more, over". In the woods near the Awasiwi Trail, and on South Burlington School District property, this course is a collaboration between the Middle and High School, South Burlington Recreation and Parks and volunteers to bring you South Burlington's first disc golf course. It offers short distances, tight lines and a fun challenge.
Awasiwi Woods has two 18-tee course layouts, regular and long, with 9 baskets. The regular course (which is short and sweet) is marked with grey boards at the head of the tee. Long tees (marked with blue boards or red flags) make the course challenging for veteran players.
As this is on school district property, alcohol, smoking and vaping is not permitted. Don’t ruin it for the rest of us. Also, as it’s managed by volunteers, we ask that you keep the course clean and take any trash with you when you leave. If you can pack it in, you can pack it out. Make sure to check for people walking and biking before teeing off.
Did we mention its tight? And short? Precision is the name of the game here. May your throws be easy and the trees be forever in your favor.
