Headline
A mostly open, lightly wooded , 9 hole disc golf course at the Thomas Worthington High School Flats
Description
Welcome back to the newly renovated Worthington Flats Disc Golf Course!!! ***UPDATE*** I was notified by the school that they were finally starting construction in the area of holes 1 & 2. They told me that we needed to pull the baskets by 05/10/23. Fonzie and I went out this afternoon and relocated the baskets for 1 & 2 to the short positions in holes 7 & 8. Our idea was that you could park in the parking lot by the Mirlolo Pavilion and start on hole 7. Play 7A, 8A and 9, then go to hole 3, 4, 5, 6 and finish up on 7B & 8B. That way you can still play 9 holes. A new temporary layout is now on UDisc. Our team of volunteers have been hard at work making numerous upgrades including concrete tee pads and two pin positions on every hole. We plan on rotating and mixing up the pin positions every month to add some variety to the course. We are also seeing if there is interest in starting up a league (singles and doubles) and also some tournaments. Permanent tees signs are in the works. (*On hold until after the school construction) Hopefully the temporary signs hold up to the elements and last a while until we can get the new signs made. Please contact Kevin at [email protected] with any comments or questions. ***This is a shared use park on Worthington School property. Please be respectful and give priority to school activities that may be going on. (i.e. sporting practices, games and events)*** - The tee pad for hole 1 is located by the three green sheds, between the practice football field (behind the stadium) and the practice baseball field, on the hill side by the fence. - After playing hole 3, walk toward the river to the bike path and turn left on the bike path. (Be aware of bikes and joggers using the path) Follow the bike path under the bridge for State Route 161 and when the path turns to the left, leave the path and follow the tree line in the field to find the tee pad for hole 4. - After playing hole 6, take the bike path back under State Route 161. (Again be aware of bikes and joggers using the path) The tee pad for hole 7 is straight ahead. - After playing hole 8, go across the park driveway (road) and the tee pad for hole 9 is located between the bushes and the softball field.
