Wescoat Ranch Disc Golf Course is a beautiful private 18-hole disc golf course built on a rugged wooded valley, bordered on one side by the Grand River. While the fairways have been cleared for disc golf play, I can’t emphasize enough that the word rugged really applies here. Much of the ground is rough and one should always pay attention to foot placement. A considerable amount of the ground is clumpy and there are plenty of toe-kickers to trip you. There are also plentiful amounts of thorn trees and bushes, along with an abundance of poison ivy, especially if you miss the fairways. The baskets are good quality practice style and the tee pads are all-natural surface. Wildlife abounds and it’s not unusual to see deer, owls, hawks, foxes, bobcats, coyotes, snakes, beaver, muskrats, the occasional eagle, and more. About half of the wooded holes are very technical with accuracy at a premium. The shortest hole is about 220’ and the longest about 560’. The front half of the course is very technical and the back half will let those with big arms let it rip a bit more. When you play well at WRDGC it’s a blast, but when you can’t hit the fairways it’s very frustrating. That’s probably true for every course, but this one even more. Play at your own risk. To play here you will have to sign a waiver. We didn’t build this course to make a bunch of money, and we don’t accept any responsibility for accident’s, injury, etc. We continue to build this course as a passion project with a focus on fun, the challenge, and a love of the game. Keep in mind the course is a work in progress with limited funds, equipment, and grounds keepers, but we always appreciate feedback from our fellow disc golfers and stive to continually improve the course. We hope you love it as much as we do.
