The Oaks gets its name from the plentiful 100-year-old oak trees that blanket the course. The 18-hole, par-3 disc golf course is at The WELK in Escondido, it is the latest disc golf course addition to north San Diego County. Designed to complement the natural terrain of north Escondido, the greens, water features, and course turns create a fun, challenging disc-throwing experience. It is gentle enough for beginners but advanced disc golfers looking for a casual round, will also enjoy it. The scenic oaks line the fairways and there is a meandering stream that crosses through the golf course, providing water hazards on a few holes. Golf greens play as OB. Over white fences OB. In bushes along hole 2 & 3 are OB (homeowner private property)! Inside propane tank fence is OB - DO NOT CLIMB FENCE TO RETRIEVE DISCS - DANGEROUS!!! Ravine that bisected course is OB. Sidewalk and pavement near pro shop and cart parking is OB. Sand bunkers play as hazard. Pavement near tee 12 plays as hazard. Resort property - please dress accordingly. No outside coolers, beer or alcohol - we have a great selection in the pro shop!
