History
The Fields at Evangel was constructed on what used to be two baseball/softball fields at Evangel Baptist Church in Taylor. The course, designed by a Father/Son/Daughter-In-Law trio, came into existence because of a desire to grow the sport in the area. The goal was to build a course that was user/beginner friendly while providing a few holes to challenge even the most experienced player. The layout was a collaboration between Noah (son) and Steve (father) with technical support from Andrea(daughter-in-law). They had discussed the building of the course for over a year and once given permission by the church they were set to place the donated baskets into position. The course creators are still working on ways to improve the course with their sights set on tee pads and more permanent signage. The course designers hope you enjoy it. It's extremely family friendly which was always in mind as the course was in its design phase.
